Diane Keaton passed away

I didn't make it a point to see her films but did see her in The First Wives Club and Something's Gotta Give. I never cared for Jack Nicholson but I really liked them together in that movie, so did my BFF. I saw on a news report that Something's Gotta Give was Ms. Keaton's favorite movie. She was well loved and had an interesting life. May she R.I.P.

Her family is saying she died of pneumonia. That was likely the ultimate cause of death, but given friends' reports about her dramatic loss of weight in the weeks before her passing, it seems as if cancer or another wasting disease precipitated her death.

Earnest question: Does cancer actually kill us - or does it so damage our bodies that it causes organ failures or immune system weaknesses that leaves us vulnerable to illnesses like pneumonia?

Cancer actually kills us by eating our organs, i.e. my dad's lung cancer spread to brain. His doctor nephew told me the cancer would shut off his breathing while in brain. Click.

Cancer also weakens us to death. Both are right.
