Did anyone watch the start of "Victoria" on PBS last night?

The premiere was 2 hours and I really enjoyed it. It is such a change from all the cop shows on TV now.

It was a relaxing time for me. If you missed it and have more than one PBS station in your area, it will probably be shown again this coming Wednesday.

If you happened to watch "Victoria", what did you think of it?

I didn`t watch it but I have an old friend who was soooo looking forward to it. Reminded everybody on FB yesterday that it was going to be on last night. This morning she posted that she should have known better than to think she could get into bed to watch something and not fall asleep LOL....

I'll wait for the musical!

Seriously, PBS didn't show it over here (I've got satellite), as it a US series?

Yes. It is a U.S. series as far as I know. It might have been on BBC before this.

Mrs. R ~ How ironic that your friend fell asleep watching it after reminding everyone of the show.

I'd been looking forward to it since PBS started advertising it months ago. It was an excellent episode. I think this will be an in depth look at the life of Victoria. It's well worth watching.

I hope I get a chance to see it. It would be good to see an assessment by an outside agency. Her destiny was really set before her marriage, and succession, by her German upbringing.

I think she surprised everybody; the Establishment, both British and German and including her husband, thought that as a young girl she could be manipulaed and dominated, but they were wrong.

She wasn't a bad Queen, but I'm still not convinced that we'd have been better with poor Charlotte!

She certainly had a better claim.
