Did Arizona Make the Right Decision?

An obviously racially motivated act, with a lame attempt to disguise it as patriotism. I agree with the poster above that NIKE should move this plant to California.

This is the first I've heard of this brouhaha about absolutely nothing. The Betsy Ross flag? Really? I could understand if it was a Confederate flag, but what does
the original American flag have to do with slavery? You might as well say don't celebrate any person or event that happened before the Civil War, because slavery was going on at that time.

He was not interfering with corporate decisions, but with state grants, big difference.
I am surprised that Adidas is not moving the factory to Mexico.
I lived in Arizona for 14 years.

To be clear, when I say that Nike made a good business decision, I wasn't make a judgment one way or the other on the flag image in question. I was referring to a corporate decision to avoid offering a product that many of their customers may find offensive.

Nike invests billions to protect and promote their image and product line. Why would they risk so much over a line of sneakers in which they have relatively few dollars invested? Many millennials (and the generations below them) who are buying this expensive footwear are highly sensitive to these issues and will vote with their (ortheir parents') wallets if they smell corporate insensitivity.

Somehow I missed the hundreds of thousands of protestors, rioting on the streets of every city in the world. I even missed the billions of emails. letters from irate protestors on both sides. I missed it when Facebook shut down because their servers just couldn't handle the protest load. For such an earth shaking issue, outside of page 32 in the Post newspaper, nobody knew about it. Only when Nike pulled the sneaks. Was it - A.Nike's social conscience, -B. or a really great sales promotion, or -C. a really slow news day?

Come to think about it, I would have never heard about this if I hadn't been a member of this forum. I guess it's a good thing I am here where I can count on other members to keep me informed of such seminal issues of our times. As we all know, the informed citizen is the cornerstone of Democracy.
