I wasn 't really impressed with his approach to this matter. It seems like a war without end when he talks about a generational struggle and relying on countries that can't govern or inspire their own populace to fight does not provide much confidence...
So, what would you have like to hear him say? What would have made you "impressed" with his approach to the ISIS problem?
I suppose you would rather have heard him say....
1.) We're sending 100,000 U.S. troops to Iraq and Syria and going to hunt down everyone associated with ISIS. Then you could have told how he misjudged the issue as we began seeing the coffins of our sons and daughters arriving at Dover AFB.
2.) We're going to bomb the entire region, taking hundreds of thousands of innocent lives. That'll show 'em. Meanwhile, the rest of the Free World wonders why the U.S. is worse than ISIS as every ally begins to turn against us.
3.) We're going to begin locking up anyone in the U.S. who is affiliated with the Islamic religion. That way, we will show ISIS they can't come here. That worked so well with the Japanese-Americans during WWII.
The likes of McCain would rather sit and carp about how poorly this POTUS is handling the ISIS problem, while offering nothing of value in ideas to turn things around. There was an excellent article this week about ISIS. Every one of the ISIS fighters is willing to die... feels they will be rewarded if they die for their "cause". They are fully and completely convinced any single person in the World whose religious beliefs differ in the slightest from theirs must be exterminated. If they must die to make that happen, their God will reward them accordingly. No other religion engrains that in their followers. No current World cult/dictatorship, except maybe North Korea, has a citizenry that believes such.
The various Islamic terror groups live within communities of innocents. If women and children were to try to flee as human shields, they are beheaded or shot dead in the streets. This cancer will take significant time to be eradicated... if ever. Without the assistance of the Middle East regional governments, it will take longer. We've tried to train them to fight. Not one group/country seems to have the same dedication and will to put ISIS down as ISIS has to continue gaining strength.
As we sent our sons and daughters to Iraq and Afghanistan we were told... "better to fight them there than here"! That worked well, didn't it? Shouldering the burden of removing Islamic terrorist from the face of this Earth is not worth one more American life!!!! But, as long as a segment of our society will pick apart every word and sentence uttered by this President, fault will be found.
So, what would you like to have heard????
