Did you ever put people on pedestals?

No, it would not be fair to them or to myself. Admiration, respect, yes, I can embrace those things, but revering someone isn’t usually very healthy. For either party involved.

hero worship is very common though. Its a human trait. look at the early stages of a romance. aren't they putting each other on pedestals?

I didn’t readily recognize this until one came to my house

I didn’t know how to be

But the weirdest thing was going to their house

I admire some people. What they can do, and what they stand for are admirable. But having worked on a Psych. ward for decades, I've come to realize that we are all strange little critters.

A pedestal is too high for humans. I've found they usually fall off sooner or later.

I have never felt it necessary to place anyone on a pedestal. I find there are already far to many folks who are more than willing to climb up there on their own.

But having worked on a Psych. ward for decades,

I did 4 years in a psych. hostel as nightshift support worker. Gave me a great insight into the world of severely mental ill. (sometimes staff were more ill than the residents )

Yes both my husband and my father-in-law. I put them on pedestals because they are the two most honorable man I’ve ever met and I trust them completely.

I think the only person in my live who made it to pedastal status was my Grandfather. Richly deserved.
I have admired many, been drawn to others and have been proud of some but always stay aware we are all human, we all hade or faults and differences. That's what makes us such fun
