My background ** fear level is so high that I rarely scare these days.

Supermarkets raise the level when I encounter one of these with a shopping cart.

I was thinking:

25% of the women in this country are on medication for mental illness. (They've been married awhile)??

That's scary.

It means 75% are running around untreated! (They are single, and don't need meds)?? :confused: :playful:
 
This was actually a true story from a few years ago - Why One in Four Women is on Psych Meds.

The article is written by a woman from a woman's point of view and she quotes the original source, which is - perhaps not surprisingly - a pharmaceutical supply company. She puts the numbers down to anxiety, depression and fear of sexual assault, and mentions that 15% of men are also on the same meds.
 
Ha ha! That is funny right there; I don't care who you are. I believe that our society is far too quick to label anything we don't like and prescribe medication for it. I find it ironic that they are cracking down on prescription medications in order to keep them out of the hands of teenagers, yet we are constantly developing new drugs. We area also constantly creating new diseases and illnesses in order for people to be able to take those medications. It really makes me wonder how we ever managed to survive as a species for hundreds of thousands of years.
