Did you like Twinkies when you were younger?

When I was young, Twinkies were one of my snacks of choice. Oily, sweet, sticky, soft and full of chemicals. Yum!

I haven't eaten one in a long time, but I've been thinking of them lately.


Anyone else enjoy Twinkies in their youth?

I loved Twinkies when I was much younger but then I discovered Hostess Cup Cakes and I dumped the Twinkies for the Cup Cakes. Opening up the foil that covered the Cup Cakes was just as exciting as ripping the gift wrap off a Christmas gift.

To the best of my memory, I have never eaten any of these products. My parents just never bought them. Seems like everyone in Southern USA eats Moon Pies too ; which is another thing I’ve never eaten.

Never had a Ring Ding, but Hostess Ding Dongs look similar. I like those too. I had forgotten about them.

I had a lot of both when I was younger. The cupcakes were more filling, so I'd go for that if I was hungry. Cupcakes could be a mess sometimes eaten out of the bag. Twinkies were fast and easy. I was all for quick eating back then. Haven't changed much.

Several years, I didn't listen to my inner good sense and was convinced to try a deep-fat-fried Twinkie at the fair. If there is a nastier treat on earth, I don't want to hear about.

Imagine an oil-soaked piece of sponge and you have it....

Wasn't fond of Hostess or Drake's cakes. I swear I picked up the zing of chemicals in them. Same with Little Debbie cakes. Ick. My husband loved those.

We hardly had them if ever as a kid. Too expensive. Years later they were good, but the coconut raspberry Zingers taste better and are a better value for the money.

You can get them at Walmart online. I only see the boxes of them though. I remember being able to buy a 2 pack. Maybe they have individual packs in the store.

I enjoyed them as a child. I still eat them when they're offered to me. They aren't the same.
