Anyone take these? Any reason why you do? What happens if you don't? I'm reevaluating supplements and am just curious.

I don't take it daily, but I do use liquid probiotics sometimes. I usually buy a flavor of this Nature's Life brand from my local vitamin store/natural grocers. Here's the details of the product from an online store, I have the blueberry right now. http://www.vitacost.com/natures-life-acidophilus-probiotic-pro-96-blueberry-blast-16-fl-oz

I think it's important to balance out our intestinal flora now and then. They say a lot of the good bacteria that is so beneficial to our digestion and health are often destroyed and need to be built up again so the bad bacteria doesn't take over. This is especially after using antibiotics from the doctor, which luckily I rarely have to take. I understand a lot of health conditions begin in the gut, so I try to keep mine fairly healthy.

I take it, have been for a number of years as I have some digestive issues. Helps to balance good bacteria in the gut. It is actually not harmful to take every day. There are different strengths, different brands. The better kind can be purchased at a health foods store and there they can probably help advise you. Helps promotes good digestion and eliminate bloating.

I agree. I take them, too, for the same reasons.

My veterinarian told me to give them to my dog, as well. She (the dog, not the vet) has digestive issues as well.

I've looked into the matter once some time ago after purchasing some overpriced probiotic stuff. The conclusion was, that basically and joghurt or curd has the same effect. True or not, that did it for me :D

I don't take any probiotics although I tried some at one point, and found they're pretty expensive. I also don't take any supplements or even a multivitamin either except vitamin D3 because of low sunshine where I live, and instead rely on eating balanced and healthy food. I take Michael Pollan's advice about food and nutrition to heart. My doctor says this is totally working well for me, but I realize many folks take supplements based on doctor's advice.

Good idea to take probiotic at different time just to keep your good bacteria healthy. It should be a must to take them after taking any antibiotics as the antibiotic kill the good bacteria as well as the bad.

They are supposed to help some folk who suffer from IBS, so that's why I started taking a small bottle of Yakult every day, and so far so good......
