Dinner With Brady

Wrigley's

Conversation over dinner with my 5 year old grand-nephew:

Uncle Wrigley's? Are you going to die of oldness?

Well (thoughtfully), it's way too late for me to die of youngness, so, yes, directly or indirectly.

What does indirectly mean?

It means, somehow related.

Like me and you are related? Am I going to make you die?

Huh. I guess it's been happening so slowly, you didn't notice.

Oh, I noticed.

I love love the honesty in kids. Great story Wrigleys! Thanks for sharing it :)

Brady and his sister Sadie are twins, like me and my brother, who's their grandfather, except they are fraternal. Their mom (my niece) has been using me as a back-up sitter for them ever since they moved nearby about a year ago, usually when it's urgent, so with just a few minutes warning. But that's cool because these two kids are the best thing my niece has done so far.

Last night was planned, though. I think Brady just needed an evening away from the girls. (he has an older sister as well)

Awww, little Brady gets a hug, nice you two have conversations like this.

I'll tell him next time I see him that he was hugged by a SeaBreeze.

I'll tell him when I have time to answer the inevitable 100 questions to follow.
