Disappointed in Christmas movies and shows aired on TV

I am old enough to remember the original versions. These days they are hyper edited and eviscerated to the point they become pointless. Whole scenes are edited out and characters are interrupted in mid-sentence to play the everlasting commercials.

Probably mot as much as PC correctness as it is commercialism.

Commercialism is a disease but quite frankly the classic Christmas stories are getting pretty long-in-the-tooth.
