dislike option in Facbook

what do you think about Facebook getting a 'dislike' button? Do you think it will encourage bullying as some have said? Do we need it? Why can't just type in a literate descriptive comment along the lines of 'I think that's crap!" or maybe 'bullshit! or '
Fair suck of the sav Mate!'

Well I've been on forums where there was a dislike button and altho' the concept was a good idea it was very open to abuse..and people did feel bullied even tho' they were grown adults. It just takes a clique to follow one dislike with another and then another and you have a tsunami of negativity to some poor soul who may have just posted a picture of her cat!. I rarely use FB...and I'm always stunned at just how much personal stuff people put out there, but it's the kids who have grown up with it and know nothing better that concern me. if FB could put an opt in or out of the like and dislike button in settings for each user ...then perhaps it would be an easier option and prevent a lot of bullying!!

It seems to me that if one has a LIKE button on Facebook, then there should be a DISLIKE button.
That doesn't look like bullying to me at all.

I mean...
'I think that's crap!" or maybe 'bullshit! or '
Fair suck of the sav Mate!'

Seems worse to me.
But then Zante, I know that I could say that to some people, including you, without them being offended.
However, some people would be offended.
I mean, a lot of people do seem to take offence ever so easy, and for nothing, nowadays
:D

Hmm. In my experience, many of the people belonging to my mother and grandmother's generation took offence very easily. My way or the highway stuff. My generation, and the one following, seem much more tolerant of diversity. That said, what is considered acceptable behaviour usually changes with the generations. Women, minorities, and the disabled, for example, are thankfully treated far better than in the past.

If Mike Zuckerberg can respond to all the requests he's gotten to add a "dislike" button then why can't he respond to all the people who have requested a way to delete their account??? Like the Hotel California, you can check in but you can never leave. There is no way to unsubscribe…grrr

There is plenty on my facebook to 'dislike' but I probably will not use it, I have to live with these people, I'll just shake my head and move on....

You can always block their posts and they will never know... Or do what I do, "Hide post" is a blessing and good for the blood pressure.

Except for the value of being able to locate former friends or relatives, to me, at least,

Facebook is juvenile; like a bunch of 3rd graders. "Do you like me? Check the yes or no box." :playful:
