Do Any AARP Members Use Their Discounts?

I'm a member but rarely think of looking to see if a discount applies to my purchase(s).

We don't either, but have used my VA Medical ID card and/or my AAA Membership card for discount at restaurants and hotels.

No longer a member (went with AMAC) but when I was, never saw any worth mentioning much less using. However, your mileage may vary. Don...

When I was out shopping before the virus problem I always asked. The ups store always gave a small discount when I mailed Christmas packages. I just send gift cards now so I don't get out much anymore.

I tried twice to get discounts at the local UPS store when I was mailing packages.Geez, the clerk couldn't figure out how to give me my discount,so frustrating. When I signed up for my Walgreens card,I said I was an AARP member I'm no longer a member but still use the card

I gave up on AARP several years ago. Insofar as discounts, I get a few military discounts. The best one is from Lowe's, which offers a 10% discount on most items to veterans. I carry a small copy of my DD214 in my wallet, and have received a discount at some stores and restaurants simply by showing the card.

Had it for several years, but realized I was never using the discounts. Since I never seemed to find discounts that suited my interests, or just plain forgot, I let my membership lapse.

It probably works out for people who travel a lot and are always on the go ... I'm not.

All I was paying for was a magazine which I never looked at.

I enjoy the articles in the magazine as there is always something that appeals to me. I look at the cover and if nothing appeals to me I put it in the stack of magazines I take to the doctor's office. Their magazines are always old and out of date. Of course since most of my visits are by phone now, I may have to find another way to dispose of them.
