Do any of you play the slot machines

I love to play because I am a smoker and the casino is the only smoker friendly social/entertainment venue around any more.

My late wife loved the slots. We'd go to Tampa Hard Rock Casino 3 or 4 times a year. And, like you, you was a smoker. I'd just wander around, have a glass or three of wine, and maybe a really really good cigar. And watch the young ladies of course. All in good fun.

Two quick trips to Las Vegas. Loved the slots on the first trip when there were nickel machines. Second trip, only quarters and dollars. Too steep for me. Ha!

Not I. The only gambling I do is the occasional lottery ticket. My sister services slots at Circus Circus in Vegas. She says that slots are the worst choice you make in any casino.

I love the slot machines. Only the penny machines and I never play the max. I guess my chances would be better if I did but I have a set amount to spend for the day and playing the max would be a real risk. We use to go to Atlantic City quite often, free rooms, free slot play, and buffet. They don't offer that anymore. I think over the years I have broken even which is ok with me. I just have fun playing and never expect to win. This fall when the leaves change we hope to go to the Foxwood in Connecticut. Probably will stay over in a motel nearby. Their rooms are way to expensive for our pocketbook.

When I go to Vegas, I have a set amount that I am willing to lose (always less than $50). When that's gone, the gambling is over. It doesn't take long, I'm afraid. I might as well find the first employee I see when I come through the front door and just hand him my money. It would save time.

I have used the slots in Las Vegas many years ago and liked that. We now have a casino in downtown Cleveland called Jacks. I would like to go down there for a few hours and play the slots and have something to eat. I don't know if they smoke or not there.

I've got a really big casino about ten minutes away and I've never been in the place......I've got nothing against them it's just not my thing.

We are going to one in Oklahoma next week. I have only played the slots a few times in Reno. I quit when I got my allotted money back and broke even. It was still fun.

We go to the casinos in Kansas City about once a month....to break up the routine, and visit the kids/grandkids. We blow enough money there that we always have free rooms and meals, etc. I often play low limit poker, while the wife is hitting the slots. If I play the slots, I generally play the maximum limit....most of the "penny" slots go between $2 and $5 a pull anymore, but playing the Max seems to be about the Only way to increase the odds of actually winning anything. I keep track of our Win/Loss annual statements, and most years we can make dozens of trips to the local casinos for not much more than one or two trips to Las Vegas.... however, on our last trip out there, a few weeks ago, we actually came home with slightly more money than the entire trip cost.

Most of the clientele seems to be Seniors....except on Friday and Saturday nights...and in that regard, casinos seem to supply a service for many of the old folks who want a break from sitting at home in front of the TV. However, I've seen many instances where I'm sure that some of these folks are putting their SS checks into the slots, then eating beans and hot dogs for the rest of the month.
