Do any of you talk to yourself?

I know what you mean. Some dogs lock eyes with yours and feels like they're lovingly looking deep into your soul. My Beagle does that.
But my Pomapoo (similar looking to your Sammie) stares into my eyes and feels more like trying to get me to read her mind to feed her, play, let her out, treat, or rub her belly and chest.
Sammie was my favorite furball after Rocky squirrel got his wild critter intellect back. Sammie dog slept by my side, after I retired, for the last 4 years of her life. 🥹 Awesome pupster.

I have 2 dogs and talk to them as if they're people. It's not just sit and stay...I use full sentences so much that I really believe they've developed a good grasp of the english language☺️ I'm serious. And they love it.

I think it's super healthy to talk to pets or yourself when you're alone for many reasons. It's good to hear yourself talk and know you still have command of the language, bringing to mind words you may lose over time from lack of usage. When you're working out a thought process you'll know if it sounds good or funky.
My golden retriever understood many words I would use. Along with voice inflection.

Actually, I was talking to him when he took off. Maybe he didn't like my food. 🤔 You know how finicky cats are. If he's still interested he knows where I live, I even gave him my phone number. 😆
Unlikely he will call if he found out you hate cats because they are selfish creatures who only care about what they want and don't give a damn about anyone else's feelings, not to mention you are done with them anyway, and they are stupid. It makes no sense why you would even want one around. You're better off alone.

I've seen many videos on how talking to yourself is good for you.
That's good to know. Since 9 years old when I was locked in the backyard of my aunt who had four children of her own who played in the house I've talked to myself and have made up imaginary friends to interact with. I would imagine going places and doing things with them when I was a kid. I don't imagine friends anymore, but do talk to myself quite often.

Being alone since 9 meant I lived a very different life than many, I know. It is good to know others talk to themselves, too. I never really knew much about others and how they lived. According to the social workers I've talked to they determined I have what is called 'profound aloneness'. I don't know the actual name for it. I have a sense of aloneness even when around and in the midst of people. I eventually came to understand that I am by nature a people person who prefers to be around people, but was made a loner by the circumstances of my up-bringing. So by talking to myself I socially interact with 'others'.

When out at malls or walking on the street I often hear people talking to themselves in public. They have ear buds in their ears so I supposed that they were talking on their smartphones hidden in their pocket. But, I have often wondered if the ear buds are just a rouse and they are actually talking to themselves.

You're making a lot of assumptions here. FYI, I happen to love cats. I didn't say they were selfish, or that they don't give a damn about anyone else's feelings, that I was done with them, that they're stupid, or that I didn't want them around. I was very nice to the cat and didn't chase him away, he left of his own accord. If he wanted to call, he would have but he preferred to just skedaddle. And I'll decide if I'm better off alone, not you. 🤨

You're alluding to something I posted in the “Singles” thread and that had nothing to do with cats or this thread. Why you're bringing it up here, I have no clue.

Jesus, Bobcat, did you forget to eat your bran this morning, or what? You've got a burr under your fur! For cryin' out loud, chill the f*ck out.

Just giving you a hard time about something else you posted, and just yanking your chain. Sorry it sounded serious. I'm chilled.

Jeeze, I hope he was at least half joking. As an absolute, 100% crazy cat lady, I can tell you they are selfish little brats and everything revolves around them! :D And I wouldn't be without them. I think I might have settled the ongoing battle over the new faux fur blanket battle.

After a year of living alone. Do any of you talk to yourself? I was so used to having her to talk to, joking at the TV, making a meal and looking over to her and now it's just her picture. It's not that I think I'm mentally deficient. Can you, who have lost their loved one relate?
I think some call it self talk. I do it all the time. I call it reasoning out loud. And I think on it for a day and talk about it again. Health officials say self talk is a healthy thing. Then you can also "bounce" it off a friend later and see what they think.

Yes, just giving her a hard time over something else, but out of context, it appeared serious. It's all good though. we're friends.
