Yes, dare I mention it, this one. In the mid 80’s I introduced her to the music of Marvin Gaye. This became her favourite song. It always reminds me of her. She was tall, slim, & dark hair in an Inverted Bob style. Beautiful eyes, great sense of humour. The song always reminds me of her. Always immaculately dressed.

Am I really admitting to this?

In the early 2000's, I introduced a woman to the music of The Corrs. We were just friends at first, but after I introduced her to this music we started dating. She was tall & slim also, but with dark long hair to the very bottom of her back. The most intelligent & beautiful woman I’d known. She played the violin. We later became engaged.

This was her song she chose for us.

While in high school, I knew one girl that I would sing the song “You Talk Too Much.” We didn’t date, but she was always getting in trouble in English class for talking to all her neighbors around her.

You were in my English class??!! o_O I was always a talker, too... the one time I decided not to whisper to my bestie in class, I got scolded in front of everyone for passing a note. Went back to talking and got detention for talking in class. Here's the good part... I talked my way out of detention, too. Well I didn't say I'm proud of it! 🤭 @Been There

This girl also got caught passing a note. The teacher made her read it to the class. The language proved she needed to be in English class.

I read here on this forum some people like Doo Wop. While in high school and college, I sang in a Doo Wop group. I sang falsetto. When I had my girlfriend, we went to a Sha Na Na concert at a fair in Alabama. My girlfriend who died just before Christmas was from Alabama. She was bi-racial and she was drop dead gorgeous. Why she picked me, I never figured it out. I met Johnny Contardo there. What a great man. Johnny also sang falsetto for Sha Na Na, but he’s solo now. Well, we got to talking and I had the opportunity to sing a song with him. We sang the song, “Remember Then” by The Earls. And even though it’s upbeat tempo, my girlfriend told me that from now on that’s going to be our song. I will never forget that night. He’s one of the nicest guys I ever met. Just a regular guy. I hadn’t sang falsetto for at least a dozen years, but after a few warmups, I was ready. It’s just like riding a bike. He told me I was great. I told him not great, but pretty damn good. Everyone laughed.

Remember Then

everytime I hear this I think of my first boyfriend, it lasted all of 6 weeks .

Not too many people know that Art Garfunkel was not a songwriter. The only song he wrote he and Paul were together was “Scarborough Fair.” I heard that on Casey Kasem’s Show years ago. Garfunkel was a very good arranger and stylist for their concerts.

He was a fair bit older than me .. beautiful, gentle man. Unfortunately, he was somewhat lost, as he was
newly divorced. His wife had suddenly left one day, took the furniture and their 8 yr. old son - to live with
someone she had been seeing on the sly. He was shattered, and not yet healed from that.

Etta James' .. "At Last".
