Do You Attend Church Services?

I attended church nearly every Sunday during my younger years....mostly Presbyterian. My Mom's side of the family was Catholic, so i sometimes went to Mass with them. When I reached my late teens, and analyzed the sermons more closely, I concluded that the most important part of the service was the "passing of the collection plate". In the last few decades, the only time I've been to church was for weddings or funerals.

I firmly believe that the universe is guided by a far higher power that our feeble little minds can comprehend, but if we live a positive and responsible life, we will be rewarded.

I never liked church even in my teens when I was a believer. I believed in God, just not that god. In my late teens, I realized I had no more credible evidence to believe in my god than I did for that other god. I still believed for the next 30 years, but it just kept getting harder and harder to hold onto that belief, and with a sigh of relief, I gave up entirely.

We attended many community meetings at a local church. We got to know and like the minister and started going on Sunday.
Years later when the church merged with another, the new people (mainly the minister) drove almost everyone out. I lost a lot of friends and acquaintances. I no longer go.
