Do you believe in ghosts?

Well, I don't know how true it is, but I read that we humans have ESP or some such thing and we lose it by age of 5.
That is indeed very spooky Sassycakes. I have heard that children are very susceptible to spirits or other unworldly occurrences .. specially other children. So I can well understand what your grandson told you was the gospel.

I lived in Florida in 1977-78 with my daughter and 3 cats. I usually worked until 6pm and my daughter was alone (she was 14). She was watching TV and our tabby Friskie was on her lap. Suddenly, Friskie jumped off her lap and walked slowly crouching along a wall until she reached a corner to another room. She looked up, like to a person, her fur fluffed straight up and her ears went flat and then she ran to hide. My daughter thought someone had come into the house and she slowly with fear went to look and there was no one there or in any of the other rooms. We have no idea what Friskie saw that night.

Gettysburg and Oak Island were mentioned and I’ve been to both, didn’t “see” any spirits, but sometimes I feel a “mood” in some places. Gettysburg of incredible permeating sadness. Was strolling on Oak Island on a bright quiet summer day, very quiet, no active digs at that particular time, but I kept getting little “zappy” feelings, like wanting to look to the side or behind me all the time. Not scary but something kind of electric about it.

Yes, I do. I lived in house that I think was haunted for a while. Eventually, the previous resident who had died there shortly before we moved in.....moved "on" and the weird events stopped.

There is a school of thought that "ghosts" are just spirits who don't realize they're dead or who are very angry about it and aren't able to "move on" yet. I would suppose that it takes some spirits longer than others to get their act together and pack up and leave.

Yes, I've had a ghost experience in an old property in my neighborhood which is an historic area. My cats have seen more ghosts than I have though. It's very interesting.

To my knowledge my pets have not had any spiritual experiences. But I did read that animals in general are in tune with the unexplainable. A week after my beloved Sheltie went to doggie heaven I swore I heard his bark coming from our backyard late at nite.

Unlike you Sassycakes I have had a ghostly situation. This was decades ago before I was married when I was living with someone. I did not actually see any apparition but my girlfriend and I sure felt it. It was a quiet weekend so we decided to liven up things by having a seance. So out came the Ouija board and we started trying to conjure up a spirit..feeling full well this was a futile exercise. Is was NOT. We DID contact something that day without a word of a lie. There was a cold part of the room even tho it was warm day outside. A breeze blew into our room yet it was windless outdoors. My girl said she felt something brush her face. I can tell you that this so spooked me that I have never revisited a seance to this day.

My mate and I used to rent a bungalow at the back of a house
On night with a few mates we held a seance
The board spelled out Dark outside Blood Death
Then the fuse blew leaving us in darkness
