Do you blog? Does anyone read it?

Have you written blogs? Does anyone read them or comment? Google makes it easy to manage them.
By now, there are a million or more blogs...who has time or desire to read them, unless they are timely
or very practical, a need to know information, etc. If they are merely opinion, that's different.
I have a blog and mean to do more, then I end up on forums like this using my time.

You think forum writing is replacing blogs? More people are probably writing on forums, discussion boards
and are read more often than blogs. But forum answers are so transient, temporary, unplanned, personal. Then
archived forever. On some forums people write page long comments, as if it was a blog.

Nope!

Maybe I should start one.

I used to have one a decade ago, but stopped when no one ever commented (or even read?). I might as well talk to my wall, takes less time and effort. Like Victor said, there must be a million of them out there. One lady writes a very interesting one and with lots of beautiful pics and no one comments (or reads? except me)

I had a blog, but, I pulled the plug on it as I really don't like a lot of attention and it was getting too much, all positive mind you. Silly I know, just wasn't comfortable with that.

As far as forums and long answers, sometimes people just want to make the person asking the question/s know they are tuned in and don't want to just offer a line. What's funny is some people never seem satisfied when you do try to help, if you ignore their thread they complain, if you reply, just not as they hope for, they seem displeased as well or even never let the responders know they appreciate the replies. Very telling don't ya think.

I sometimes wonder if people on forums are just pulling strings for attention and not really to connect.

I have had a blog on WordPress since 2009 and have written 811 postings. I have 778 people that have subscribed to it and have had over 86,700 visitors and I am not a writer. It started as a way to communicate with my family because I lived in a remote cabin in Northern Alaska but as people started to visit and make 3,518 comments on what I wrote the direction of the blog expanded but has never faltered from its foundation of God, family, country.

Now that I have had a bit of blog experience I think I can safely say that forums have a place in that they are more instantaneous in what is commented on wheras a blog is more of a 'digging deeper' process.

...stop by my blog as see what I mean....https://kl1hbalaska.wordpress.com/

I read a couple and have had guest post on one a few years back. I do write a newspaper column for our local town and have for over 22 years.

No. I don't read other's blogs either. They're either too long or there's no paragraphs.
This is my issue also. I sometimes go to blogs through Pinterest. Recipes, sewing tutorials etc. The thing is for one recipe there are 15 pictures. They show flour in the measuring cup, flour in the bowl, a glass container of liquid on and on. Show the finished product and get on with the recipe. I know what a cup of flour looks like!

I find this over and over and it's beyond irritating. I don't get why this is done.

I have 2 blogs through Google. They make it easy for users.
Check it out. It is called Insight and Analysis

But I prefer forums.

Have a difficult time believing anyone would be interested in my fairly mundane life that basically consists of reading, bingeing Netflix or Hulu,my cats and my priceless grandson,l ol

I'm sure there are some well written and informative blogs but I don't read them.

I used to try to read a few but found most were way too long and with not enough paragraphs
were hard to read.

Posts on forums that a short and to the point are easier to follow too.

I wrote what I guess is considered a blog on WordPress (as a matter of fact, it's in my header) but, it was really just a way to leave my somewhat interesting life stories for my children and grandchildren. I was pleasantly surprised to find others had read it and commented on some of my stories. However, since the death of my youngest, I'm having trouble getting thoughts down on virtual paper.

I'm trying to figure out how a person can be a "professional blogger" as a living. Several times on House Hunters International, a young couple is moving to Europe or Asia or somewhere and one or both of them are described as "professional bloggers". How much money can a "professional blogger" make? And how?

Yep. These are my toes. They had a wonderful time today lazing on the beach with no shoes on. They are showing off their brand new socks . Maybe other toes will be jealous.
People passed us. Dogs sniffed them.
Dont they look cute and adorable?

Yawn:yawning:

:lofl:

Hey now! Those really are my toes, don't be jealeos. :playful:

Yes, I had a blog. Started blogging in 2007 and deleted it for the last time in 2013 or 14. Had 42 followers and about sixty blogging in the same group. The group started with eight like minded individuals and grew from there. We wrote about current events, fashion, communities, life, and politics. I finally just ran out of anything reveloent to say. As somebody mentioned earlier, maybe some bloggers are merely lonely people.
