Do you cook , or just microwave?

i like cabbage. don't try to tell me they taste like cabbage cuz they do not. they taste nasty. lol!

they have a five guys burger joint here. never had it. i want to but, someone told me they were pricey. and i don't think you get anything but burgers there. i wonder if the eat street guys could swing over and get me some mcdonald's fries to go with it? *grins*

I've had 5 Guys before (please, no off-color comments.) It's OK. As I recall, you get your fries in a brown paper bag. To me it's like Starbucks. People like it because of the name more than the quality of the food.

Personally I prefer Burger Chef, but they went away a long time ago.

If you have 5 Guys fries, you'll ditch McDonalds. :D They use fresh cut potatoes and they give you a bushel of 'em. You should try it at least once to see what you think.

I haven't used a microwave since 1994. I never cared for them. I cook a lot. I am always disappointed when I buy a frozen meal and figure I could have made it better myself. I use an Instant Pot or Nuwave oven (not an air fryer) mostly. Never use the full size stove for anything but being an extra cupboard.

I have been cooking for 48 years. I usually cook more than one meal at a time, eat it 2 nights in a row and freeze the rest.

I use micro to defrost frozen food if I forget to take out of the freezer. I do use it to cook small portions of veg.

Most meals have a meat (chicken) and starch (pasta or rice) and veg on the side.

It's interesting that in many cases, frozen retains more nutrients that "fresh."

I like brussel sprouts, but fresh is not only expensive, you get so darned many. So I always have a bag of frozen on hand.

On the flip side, I won't eat asparagus unless it's fresh. No way I'll eat canned or frozen. I've even blanched and frozen my own, and it loses too much texture. Broccoli is a close second in the "gotta be fresh" list.
I don't like frozen brussels sprouts or asparagus...ick. In our grocery stores the brussels sprouts can be picked individually; you can buy one sprout or as many as you like. They sometimes have them on the long stem which I think is the coolest looking thing ever. I love roasted brussels sprouts, or even steamed and tossed in butter. Yummy.

I don't like to cook since its only me,I use microwave and electric oven
I usually buy frozen dinners e.g. Lean Cuisine,Smart Ones, depending on the instructions I can either microwave or use oven
I love buying steamed vegetables zap them in the microwave

One of the few things I miss about living in an urban area is the selection in the grocery stores. I ended up ordering Hungarian paprika on line because I could not find it here, so let's not talk about buying sprouts (or much else) bulk. Even if I drive 30 miles into Charlottesville (a reasonably-sized university town), it's not much better.

I too like cooking in quantity in order to have a few freezer meals and baked goods on hand.

Have a European convection oven and this morning baked two dozen muffins plus two loaves of banana bread all at once....that will do for now
You go, girl!

That's the only way to do it. And as my British mother would say: My Scottish soul won't allow me to waste the energy and only bake one thing at a time!

We have 5 Guys here and their burgers are ok. I would only eat fries at certain places and not there.
Brussel Sprouts - gag, gag, gag and yes I have tried them several times and they are too gassy smelling and gag, gag, gag.

I am the same way:

-Green veggie
-Starch

It's called "a meal."

Try the sprouts....cooked soft in lemon juice & olive oil, sprinkle salt & pepper, and spoon on some mustard just before they are finished cooking.

Does that make them good ?....depends on the sprouts, some do come out pretty good.
