Do you curse?

Not nearly as much as I once did. Used to get going on inanimate objects that I would hit my head on in the shop. Mostly when when working on vehicles, or some piece of machinery. Nasty enough to make the devil blush.
Uh huh... I worked jobs where swearing was an absolute no-no, so I'm conditioned against it. However, I once dropped a sledge hammer on my foot and once dropped a 2x12x8' piece of lumber straight down on my foot. I didn't know I knew the long string of words that spewed out of my mouth - but I embarrassed myself !

I'll share a story. I was in sales in my past life. There was an elderly woman who was considered a matriarch in my particular industry. She was 90 years old, lived in Beverly Hills and had booked travel for Hollywood stars back in the day. I met with her at a conference. I had heard she was friends with a lady in TX, also in the business. Trying to ingratiate myself with her, I said "I understand you are friends with _______ and the two of you talk frequently". This little, hunched-over lady said to me "Yes, we talk often but she's half deaf so she doesn't understand a F***ing thing I say". My mouth just dropped open and the conversation ended. :ROFLMAO:

The words I've used in the past when I was younger and upset/angry were G-rated - like "fudge" and "dang" and "crap!" and "I can't believe it!!" and "That's crazy!" and then I walked away. That's it. Boring, but effective, especially when I walked away. When I'm really pissed, I start staying "Lord have mercy" over and over again. It calms me down and I usually feel good afterward.

No, and do not like that swearing has increasingly become acceptable in public and media. Of course growing up swore at times, mostly when younger. An adult that habitually does so, when emotional in public won't likely be able to control their tongue to their embarrassment.

My own daughter, when aged about ten years old or so, told a girlfriend of mine the Subaru XT 1800 Turbo car I drove at the time was a "cr*p car"!,(shocking her quite considerably, but it only got worse for this woman who admitted not wanting children of her own, and seemed so unsure around my child, and our relationship pretty much ended when my daughter told her " She wouldn't last long" :) !).

Do you curse?

Like a trooper when I’m with my daughter, we think it’s funny,:ROFLMAO:
not so much around other people...
I wasn’t joking, it started when my daughter aged about 12, accidentally dropped the F bomb in front of me, the look on her face was priceless, (thinking she was in trouble) but I just burst out laughing and we’ve been cursing and laughing between ourselves ever since

I do, but not in front of kids or "polite company". There are certain words I don't use and cringe when others do. This doesn't include the "f-word". My own mother started using the f-word after I was an adult, and I picked it up from her. Lately I mostly use it when talking to my computer.

Yes. Not proud of it, but I do.

Lots of chronic pain from car accidents. When some Charlie Horse would hit or other misery...I just stopped trying to restrain it...too much work in those situations.

so, my friend "M" worked for a rock magazine. She interviewed the super model Elle McPherson. Elle McPherson was doing some new health diet and the article was about that. Next time I spoke with "M" she goes to me...

"JON!!! You would LOVE Elle McPherson!!! She curses like a truck driver!!!"

Apparently, Elle McPherson was enormously funny, very very intelligent and also an extremely nice person. I think she just enjoyed seeing the surprise on someone's face that a model would say those things!

If you like cursing and think it is funny...you absolutely have to see this movie...

In the Loop..

I think the American show "Veep" was derived from this one.

Just an endless festival of hysterical cursing...

I think there are some videos on You Tube if you want a taste...

here's the imdb page...

I seldom swear but one day I was upset about something and mentioned it to my mum. I told her the whole story and finished off by saying "F*****g cheek!", mum looked at me, straight-faced, nodded her head and replied "F*****g liberty"! I was so shocked, mum NEVER swears! :ROFLMAO:

Back when my youngest was in elementary school, he asked if he could take one of my models to school for 'Show and Tell'.
He choose my model of a B-52 aircraft.

That day I got a call from his teacher explaining our son had used a 'very bad word' in class.

In his presentation he told the class that "This is the B-52 bomber and it's nick-name was 'BUFF'.
'BIG-UGLY-FLYING-F***"!

He must have over-heard me calling it that while discussing with my co-workers.

I learned a valuable lesson that day about ' Little Pitchers have Big Ears '...

I do not, in public, but I sure do when someone cuts me off in traffic. My partner and I sometimes curse about some topic when we are having a conversation, but only alone.
You make a good point. One thing about using profanities, don't ever do it when reprehending someone. Times I have had some recalcitrant or other, standing before me in my office, back in my managerial days. Showing anger and using a profanity is negative, what I did was to look up a word that I knew they wouldn't have come across, one of the best ones was, contumacious. It means, stubbornly resistant to authority. One of my staff whom I had cause to discipline, I overheard him regaling a colleague about his uncomfortable time in my office. He actually thought that contumacious was an elongated way of saying the vulgar 'C' word. I all but choked on my morning coffee.
