Do you 'do' QR codes?

sometimes u don't have a choice if u want to register for something. if i want to take a class at the library, in order to sign up, i have to use the QR code.
I’d go to the library front desk and tell them you don’t have a cellphone, even if you do. There are ways around being forced to use a QR code.

Very rarely and half the time I can't get them to work. Yesterday, I was surprised that a funeral home staff member went around and helped people use a QR code to load the obituary program to our phones. My son did his own, the staffer helped me with mine, but I hit something accidentally and lost it. My son sent me the link from his. I was glad when someone came around with paper programs.

One has to get the QR code centered just right with the camera app, then pay close attention to what happens afterward. A small thing showing the link the code opens will pop up. Click on that immediately.

I use them all the time. Very handy when I’m shopping and I can just scan the QR code to capture the digital coupon, at a restaurant to get the menu on my phone, for Amazon returns, to activate my updated credit card, to access user manuals…a useful tool.

Not having a smart phone, QR codes are a big no.
If that means I am unable to access something, so what. Nothing is so important that it would worry me missing out.
I want as little to do with technology as possible.

I've never had to use them in a serious way like returning something to Amazon.

I did install a QR Code Scanner App on my phone years ago. But more recently your camera can scan them I think.

I just tried to scan with my phone's camera but with no result.

I was able to scan and read the result using my "QR and Barcode Scanner" app (installed using Google Play) on my phone.

I have a graphics software that will generate a QR code from a typed internet link which I thought was interesting.

so what if you didn't have a cellphone.. are they saying you couldn't take a class ?
My "editorial" :
As the world is getting taken over by Gen X and the Millennials, it is they that are calling the shots, and deciding how-to do business transactions. Some businesses like Kaiser-Permanente offer the latest technology for check-in, but still provide staff to accommodate older patients. Employees of some businesses will look at you funny, if you try to use cash. Writing a check? The manager may not even know how to process payment via check. shrug.gif
