Do you drive a sedan?

I drove a manual 4WD 1 ton pickup for many years. These days I have a crossover AWD. These are great city cars, good mileage, good in the snow but they aren't high off the ground, so easy access for seniors, hatchback for easy loading of stuff, just a good all around car.

I've had several sedans in the past including a Mercury Cougar, a really cool car...I now drive a GMC Terrain SUV, I like the SUV, mainly for the convenience of carrying things.

There can be disadvantages with a sedan when stopped at a red light waiting to make a right. As you try to check the cross traffic, the big truck/SUV blocks your view. Same in the parking lot. Park in an empty spot and then try to find your little vehicle in a sea of big vehicles.

I'm not a car person. All I want is to get in and go. I don't care if it has enough room to bring home 4 months of groceries. I drive a sedan, because they're the cheapest to buy.
The thing I always liked about a sedan was a trunk isolated from the passenger area. You could put shovels, bags of dirt, or dead animal carcasses back there, and the clutter was out of sight. But this was in response to the old station wagon layouts. It's one of the reasons I stayed away from cross overs so long. Although it hasn't been a problem with my new car, partly because the rear seat backs are high enough to isolate the rear fairly well. On the other had I don't store stuff back there. I've had cargo in it for short periods, but when I'm home I empty it out.

Do you drive a sedan? It seems like they’re almost extinct. Parking lots are mostly full of SUVs, Crossovers or very big trucks.

We have a sedan. I’d rather have an SUV but this is what we have.
I too drive a small sedan. It's getting older but only has about 85,000 miles. And I agree with you on the SUV issue. Even single people I know seem to have an SUV. Perhaps they have grand kids or something they drive around. My next car will be a sub-compact. IF they will still be making them.

I love sedans and refuse to follow the mindless masses with their 4X4 trucks and their SUVs. Don't feel sorry when I hear them crying about high fuel prices. I would love to see gasoline sell for $3/litre or even more. These guys/gals are a part of the problem of global warming.

My 1st car was a 4 door 1956 Chevy BelAir. Then I had a 1956 Oldsmobile 98. All me life I have had sedans except for 1 van (a mistake). Today I proudly drive a Ford Focus Hatchback.

I tell you what...we have these tiny little Smart cars here... they are really for just driving around town and not on the motorway but people do take them on the motorway and they're so small they're a liability on the road. MY daughter who drives a Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid, was a passenger for a short distance in a Smart car, and she said she's never been so scared..

Nothing but sedans until I became a foster parent. Then, it had to be a van.

I owned a hatchback and then a station wagon when my kids were little, though. But only til all 3 were big enough to not need a carseat.

My son owned one of those. It got totaled when he accidentally hit a deer. He didn't buy another one.

They don't look safe. Maybe safer than a motorcycle. I would feel exposed.
My son did look into their construction before he bought one, and he learned the body's frame and chasis are actually as sturdy as the average conventional sedan and even sturdier than some. That's what sold him on it.

He did enjoy driving it, loved the maneuverability. But it was kind of a drag when he had to travel for work because he has to take a lot of tools, plus all his clothes and boots and stuff. He bought a Rivian just a few months ago. It cost way, way more, but he's super satisfied with it.

I’m on my second Toyota Camry LE and I love it. Reliable, good back support with the seats and good gas mileage Put 300k on the last one and I don’t see any reason not to repeat that 😁
