Do you eat raw Oysters?

Oyster stew was a favorite of mine when younger, I think it was the neat little crackers served with it. My dad & I loved the stew I hope mom cooked them prior to serving or it would be a change of diet for me.

No..but I'm going to tell you a story that happened today..

An obviously mentally challenged middle aged man came into the hospital pathology department today... he was talking loudly to no-one in particular and then he sat down in the waiting area. and started smashing Oysters against the pillar behind to try and get them open, and eventually succeeded.. and the juice was all over the floor.. it was revolting.. then as he was eating.. he loudly declared..mmmmm.. where do I remember this taste from...it's been a very long time, but you never forget.. *ugh*... the women sitting near him were on the point of throwing up...

I reported him to the reception...

I guess you don't need a Walmart to have the people. :ROFLMAO:
it's the first time I've ever seen anything remotely like that where I live. The problem is that this is a cottage hospital here it has no A&E or beds..... but it does have the Path lab.. so people are sent there from outside of this town.. so goodness knows where he'd come from...

I enjoy most seafoods and, in the past, that included raw oysters and clams. I haven't had the opportunity to eat them for some time now and, frankly, I don't miss them.

Sorry @Bretrick, but the one time I had raw oysters in Oz they were huge, rubbery, and tasteless. If that's characteristic of Aussie oysters, your not missing anything. ;)

Hi Tommy, to me, oysters look like that stuff that comes out of the nose when under the weather.

When we lived in Panama City, Fl. Dad and I would camp at Apalachicola, FL.
No one else in the family cared much for camping and fishing.

He would show me how to find Oysters and how to 'shuck-em' and eat them raw.
We Surf fished and he taught me many things about the Ocean. Good times.

I'll take Seafood over Meat, anytime.
