Do you enjoy threads that have titles in the form of a question?

I can't remember @Matrix ever saying that it's not allowed to ask a question in a heading...
interesting because the site rules clearly state that thread titles must be descriptive and i am suddenly falling foul of this.I wonder if others are having this problem?I deliberately do not ask a question as the thread title(as i often do on the other big seniors site)because i have thought since i joined here it was not what was wanted.

I guess we will wait for Matrix to chime in, but I don't think the site would maintain much interest if questions were not allowed.

"Do you use an electric toothbrush, or a manual one"?

I have enjoyed it! And now, to the tooth brush issue, haha: I truly believe in the power of electric tooth brushes! I have had two dentists compliment me on my 70 year old teeth and gums; I've used electric tooth brushes for decades and still have enamel to spare!

Who said you are not allowed to use questions as titles? This is a ridiculous statement.

You may want to read the title rules thread again, if you've ever read it.

Here is a thread you started last Friday, the title is "Waiting.......Waiting......"

I can't tell what it's about, waiting for what? Why can't you use a few more words to make it clearer?

Another one: "Choices..." You have tons of threads with vague titles.

If we haven't visited the forum for 24 hours, there will be several pages of updated threads, with descriptive and complete titles we can pick up the threads that interest us within minutes, open them in new tabs and read them one by one, how easy and friendly it is.

Imagine there are many threads with titles as below, I would find it very frustrating and don't want to use the forum again.
  • I have a question
  • Please help
  • This is very interesting
  • Breaking news
  • Choices

If you still don't know what a descriptive title is, here is a tip: try to come up with a title with at least 5 words.

If the specific question has any interest for me, or humor to it,

then I often like a Title that poses a question,
because I myself, tend to assume pleasantly,
that a wide variety of viewpoints and interesting ideas will be welcomed.

It is sometimes, or most often, usually true. :)

"Open-ended questions are defined as free-form survey questions that allows a respondent to answer in open text format such that they can answer based on their complete knowledge, feeling, and understanding. This means that response to this question is not limited to a set of options."
For me, I always want to understand the rationale that a person used to come to a conclusion. That's what makes reading posts interesting. Survey-type questions are only good for one thing - surveys.

But Em….. Is your favorite color Red ?

:)

(Please answer with just a 'yes' or a 'no' )
:ROFLMAO:

Would this make an interesting new thread title?;)

Now that I have looked through this entire thread....

I have realized that
a Question that is too open-ended (Have you ever?)
Or one that is too closed-ended (Do you like to jump.. off a chair, onto the floor, 1 foot below?)

Are both, not my first, or most intrigued, thread topic, to go to.
To me, they are either ambiguous or limited.

A moderately open-ended;)
and interesting or humorous topic, could be introduced with a Question or not. (y)

Now, What did I say?

:)
