Do you ever request a "senior discount" when buying goods or services?

About the only "senior discount" we use is when we stop at McDonald's for a cup of coffee. Their Senior coffee is only abut 75 cents, and tastes better than a $4 cup at Starbucks.

I'll use the 20% at Walgreen's that they offer on the first Tuesday of every month. Only to buy ink for my HP printer....otherwise I forget about it, cause I don't do much shopping there.

I do with contractors, but they seem to have a pat answer - "We give EVERYONE the best price we can." Some will say "You should have mentioned that before I gave you the estimate." What difference should that make? So they can juggle the price up to make it look like a bargain giving a discount?
They just look at my facial hair, note the gray and usually say "We have a discount for Senior Citizens"
