When you hear of someone inventing that please let me know immediately!!I wish someone would invent something that would heat and melt snow and ice on contact, especially from cars, sidewalks, stairs etc. This could be so helpful in cold climates when I think of all the ice and accidents, deaths and time wasted shoveling.
I do.....A "Beam me up scotty" machine or Harry Potter floo powder that would make travel easy so we didn't have to spend hours on planes, trains or in cars. Trouble with floo powder is that hardly anybody has a fireplace any more
Interesting to see all these things in a post! Though I don't have any of these, reading your post I can readily see that we do have readily available, what would have been considered a "futuristic home" not that long ago.My mother died in '73 my grandmother in '82...I often wonder what they would make of all the perhaps not inventions but things that have become common uses that they knew nothing about in the home.
In my home I have remote controls for almost everything...
The internet...
Google home and Amazon Echo... (both of which we have in our home
Things that work remotely, for example I can switch the barn lights on from inside my house.. no walking up the garden in the dark & then groping around in the dark with a torch
I get google Home to turn my lights on and off at the end of a day...
I can turn on my heating, water, burglar alarms, and lights using Hive on my phone.. from the other side of the world.. and I do...
Mobile phone, with camera... no bulky heavy ear-pieced, rotary phones with a party line...
..and of course chatting on a daily basis to people the other side of the world using my fingers as tho they were in my home... so many other things that have become the norm since my mum and gran died...
Exactly Tony...and having been raised in what would have been called a deprived home (although we lived in an upscale neighbourhood)..there's no way my mother or grandmother would have ever imagined that one of their kids would have such things, in the very near future . In fact if my mum hadn't have taken her own life bless her heart in 1973 in her 30's .. she may have still been alive today and posting on here...Interesting to see all these things in a post! Hahaha! As soon as they outlawed 75 watt incandescent light bulbs, I went to the hardware store and bought them all up!I can't think of anything I want invented but would love some of the old inventions to come back.
Appliances with nice long cords, Bring back the old light bulbs. I even like the handle on the doors of cars that lower the windows. Asper gum, great for a sore throat. Milk containers with that sturdy cardboard top, at least you could open them easily.
I guess I'm really showing my age.
I had no idea!
@Tish .. why not, after all, they have Steering Wheel Warmers/Heaters.Automatic Steering wheel cooler.

Some of these new bulbs can damage the retina of your eyes permanently! Besides, the old bulbs have a soft, romantic glow.
I with you on the old car door handles and roll up windows. too! the old milk cartons!
I looked it up on line years ago and the LED lights are bad for you. The damage to the retina is irreversible.Which ones Gaer? Lord in Heaven I'm already down too one eye as it is no
I LOVE that idea, but to do that, I think they would have to disassemble every single molecule in your body, send you to your destination and reassemble the molecules.Wouldn't they? That might be a little scary, unless it was perfected over eons of linear time. hahaha!I wish teleportation could be invented. You could visit anywhere in a flash.
