Do you feel younger or older than your age?

Most of the time, I feel younger but, then there are the times I look in the mirror and yell "MOTHER!"

As the years go by, I seem to resemble my mother more and more. Completely off topic but, when I see people who have had plastic surgery which has completely changed their appearance, I wonder what it must feel like to look in the mirror and not resemble anyone you are related to

What day is it? Yesterday, I felt like I had died shortly after the Civil War. Today, I don't feel a day older than 100.

Tomorrow, after a couple of naps, I just might feel my age.

Some days, I feel like a kid. That usually gets me into trouble and the next day, it's back to 95.
"Long Live Walter Jameson!!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I've been feeling much older for the past year and 3 months, ever since I hurt my back while I was taking down our Christmas tree in 2024. Pain really drags you down. It takes a toll on you, physically and mentally, especially when you know there's no way to fix it...maybe in a decade or so, but not today. And if my doctor prescribed any of the truly effective pain-relievers, the FDA would be breathing down her neck. She'd even be at risk of losing her license.

Anyway, that's a whole 'nother topic. I'm 71 but, in general, I feel about 88 on my good days and at least 100 on my bad days. But almost everyday, from about 2pm until 4:00-4:30pm, when my medication peaks and I'm an hour into my second 5Hr, I feel about 45yrs old, even younger sometimes. I love that window.

In my mind, I am quite young and frisky. In reality, I not only feel like I am in my 90s, I am.

But, if I keep my balance, and stop falling, I get around just fine. No trouble walking, but I am ordered to use a walker as I can suddenly fall in the blink of God's eye.

Naturally, I have my share of aches and pains, but they are to be expected at my age.
I think you are doing absolutely great and I love your new profile picture! 🌷

I have no chronic aches and pains that slow me down or make me feel older, but my perception of how I feel about my age is strongly infuenced by the people around me. If I'm in a group of my peers, I feel younger than my age, but if I'm around a group of young people, I feel older.

Im not sure how I am supposed to feel based on my age. I never reached that age before (lol). I stay very active so I guess I dont feel my age, (perhaps compared to others) but I do feel all those aches & pains when I awake each morning, till I stretch

Is there a handbook that can explain to me how I should feel at my age?

This question reminds me of the weather on TV where every night they tell you if the temperatures were above or below average.

So far the temperatures are never average so I don't know how they established an average.

So to answer in those terms, I feel above the average for my age on some days and below average on others. There, now it's all so clear.

OK so by the calendar I'm 73, soon to be 74 in 82 days. By the clock- at about 6am-ish I'm feeling well over 90+. After some food and coffee(!) and moving around a bit, I'm feeling closer to my calendar age. After the fitness class at the gym or Yoga, I'm feeling younger...how much younger I'm not sure.

It sounds to me like we're gonna need an app to tell us.

They already have an EKG for your phone. That app should put a number to the results. Then we can walk with confidence knowing what age we feel like on any given day.
