Do you find yourself drawn to reading your daily horoscope every day? For fun or for real?

In the West, astrology most often consists of a system of horoscopes purporting to explain aspects of a person's personality and predict future events in their life based on the positions of the sun, moon, and other celestial objects at the time of their birth.

I personally find this subject fascinating and tend to believe there may be some validity there.

What are your experiences with your specific horoscope sign relative to how you get along with others of the same or different horoscope sign?.

Back when I read the newspaper on a daily basis I would check my horoscope. It was mainly for my own amusement and didn't put much stock into it. I do wonder sometimes though about the personality of different signs. Many of my friends are fellow Pisces and we do seem to have the same traits so there might be something to it or it could just be a coincidence. I'd never bet the farm on a lottery ticket if my horoscope said today is my lucky day but at the same time I might act a little more cautious if it said that I should beware of trouble.

No, I don't. I go right to the funny pages. But with the power of suggestion, I'll be looking at it later this morning.
As a side note, there's an astrologer on another forum I'm on. And so far, he's been really wrong in his predictions
about the national scene. (That's all I'll say about that. )

No. Also I have heard that your rising sign is just as significant as your sun sign, as well as all the planet's alignments at a given time.

I don't believe in it, myself.

Okay, today's horoscope.

Five stars! "State your needs clearly, and ask for more of what you want [not sure what I want]. Not everyone thinks in the same way you do, so remember to keep that in mind [I do need to remember that]. You generally are rather conventional [true, in most things]. Tonight: Let the fun continue [am I having fun yet?]".

Not bad, I have to say.

I study astrology and have for decades. The newspaper's horoscopes are mostly inaccurate. But astrology has some validity and was considered a science earlier in history. Kings and queens and emperor's all had court astrologers ; they might not make a decision without first consulting one.

I'm a Taurus sun and Ascendant. Uranus is going to transit Taurus beginning this May 2018 and will remain in Taurus for about seven years. This will impact global banking systems and the way money is perceived and handled - things may go completely electronic whether you're ready for that or not. The last time Uranus transitted Taurus was from 1934 - 1942. The dark years of America's great depression, and the dust bowl - Taurus controls agriculture, horticulture and ecology as well as personal possessions and finance. The rise of Germany's Reich took place during this time as well as the attack on Pearl Harbor and the U.S.'s entry into WWII. This was a time that European Jews were dispossessed overnight, forced into labor camps and death camps, except those who were able to escape to safer countries far from their homeland, but they lost all their possessions in their escape as refugees do.

Uranus is not at home in Taurus which dislikes change and upset and financial instability of any kind. I'd look for a period of forced change in the banking industry and how people do their banking. There could also be major upheavel in the social security system which was introduced by FDR with the initiation of the federal income tax which was introduced the last time Uranus transitted Taurus. People may be forced out of employment due to automation and relegated to living on an income provided by the government? This is speculation on my part, but these are the kinds of changes the coming seven year transit will bring.

I'll bet that's more than you ever wanted to know about astrology.

I usually only read it on my birthday. My sign has a lot of truth to my personality, but the daily horoscopes in the paper are really hit and miss.

OooH I agree with Seabreeze...daily horoscopes are usually just for fun... but I absolutely believe in the science of astrology... I'm archetypal Aries, as is my daughter, as was my father and mother... all Aries... but also everyone I know has those typical Aries traits...

I am very aware of Astrological traits for every sign of the Zodiac, having studied it as a hobby years ago...

However i've come to learn that like religion and politics, you never discuss it with those who don't believe, because no-one can prove whether it exists or doesn't... but those of us who believe in it, will continue to believe and those who don't, will not be made to think any different..

No, I think it's right up there with Gypsy fortune tellers, crystal balls, etc. But like most people, I know what sign I was born under. It's Scorpio, and my understanding is that we're supposed to be good with financial affairs. Now, that is funny!

Nope. never really bought into astrology. We are ALL born under the same sun, moon, & stars. Plus there never was a reciprocal person. By that I mean if the scope says, " Libra- Someone will ask for your guidance, today". There never is somebody else's scope that says, " You will seek guidance from a Libra, today." Don't know why I noticed that.
