And, I doubt any of the "small government" conservatives are even wanting the news from Rio to hit the airwaves. In this week's "economic" speech, Trump talked about doing away with regulations on industry. The GOP's take has been... buyer beware. If you see crap floating in the water, don't swim in it. They constantly fight the thought of regulations that do keep our rivers, streams, and lakes clean.
If we would see Trump as President with a Republican majority in Congress, won't it be nice to take an afternoon walk along the shore and see the "Baby Ruth's", the used condoms, the tampon inserters, etc. float by. Of course, those can be filtered out. It is the chemical dumps from industry that would do the most harm to public health.
Sad to see the mess in Rio. One could only hope it isn't soon forgotten so we, too, don't end up with the same issues.
