Do you follow an animal or a plant based diet?

Omnivore, without any real health problems.
But I think soon I'll go back to animal based. I just feel better on it.
Interesting, no one seems to say that, but for me it is true. My digestion works better without a lot of plant matter. Almost sounds politically incorrect or something...

Plant based primarily.....legumes, veggies, fruits, nuts, healthy fats (olive oil and the oils in nuts) and a whole grain/bean flour bread that I make myself. Wild caught salmon, sardines and pasture raised eggs are the only animal origin foods that I eat.
No refined sugar; no sugary soft drinks....and I minimize as much as is reasonably possible any processed foods......frozen berries are about as processed as I'll accept.

Omnivore, but I lean toward poultry. We have an Amazon parrot, about 45 years old, whose favorite delicacy, believe it or not, is a chicken bone which she splits and eats the marrow.

I use a mix of animal and plant based diet. I try not to eat too much red meat, but I will have grilled boneless ribeye steaks, lamb sirloins, chicken, etc. We eat fish at least once a week, usually oven broiled salmon fillet, tuna fish, and shellfish like shrimp, king crab legs, sea scallops, etc. Easy to eat vegetarian when we want to take a break, lots of good dishes that don't involve any meat. No health issues and not on any prescription meds.

I'm a plant based eater. I was never a huge fan of meat anyway so it wasn't really an issue to drop it. I try to avoid all processed foods and use olive oil minimally. I don't identify as vegan because I do take fish oil capsules everyday. I have managed to give up sweets and don't miss them at all anymore. Now, all that said, I do relapse occasionally and will let some crackers or chips into my house. And if I go out to eat with friends or family at a place where there's not really much plant based to be had I'll allow some cheese and/or egg in. Last resort when eating out is shrimp. Fortunately, eating out is a very rare occurrence and I'm working on the chip/cracker addiction. I have hypothyroidism as a chronic condition but Alzheimer's gallops through my family and I'm hoping that cleaning up my diet will help stave it off long enough that something else takes me out instead.

we dont eat meat or fish anymore , after seeing what the fish ate on the bottom of the oceans ....yuk....
so we just eat veg, salad fruit , cheeses etc etc ......we eat mostly everything else ....

When I first was diagnosed with prostate cancer, I adopted a diet of raw vegetables and fruits, carrot juice, and whole grains like rice, chia, nuts, and quinoa and virtually no meat and deep fried foods. With my proton beam treatment and improving PSA numbers, I have started eating more other foods, but I still am trying to stick with lots of vegetables & fruit, whole grains, Whole Foods, and not too much meat. There are cases of people with cancer going into remission due to diet alone. In my case, my PSA numbers did actually improve slightly in the first year, but I was also taking supplements like vitamin D. A study on prostate cancer patients like myself (localized and not metastasized), vitamin D alone was shown to slightly improve PSA, so with that in mind, I can not conclusively state that diet improved my situation. At any rate, after about 4 years, my cancer seemed to again progress and I received treatment. My theory on my cancer progression was a faulty furnace in our home that had a leak in its heat exchanger - that next spring is when my cancer progressed! I replaced this furnace right away. (Studies on firefighters show increased rates of cancer when they were exposed to toxic chemicals.)

What I can say about a vegetable-rich whole food diet with little or no meat, dairy, and breads is that it reduced my need for ibuprofen and thus my inflammation was reduced.

I think we need animal protein in our diet. I eat a mix also and try to keep it all very healthy.
I don't take any meds either.

I'm such a bad cook. I'd like to do stir fry stuff. I don't think mine come out very good. I had a stick free wok style pan but I stopped using stick free and it was like new so I donated it.

Got any real world tips?
How about a griddle for your stovetop? Heavy stainless steel that you can season .
