Do You Get Acne?

Parts of my face get oily and are acne prone. I've been doing a routine on my face. I got a new facial cleanser called Himalaya Boutique Balancing Formula. It makes my skin really soft. I also am using Dickenson's Witch Hazel and then after about 20 minutes I use Clean and Clear Acne Cream. So far so good.

I don't have bad acne but it is bothersome to me on my forehead.

What do you use on Acne?

You must be young Ruthanne, Acne is a young person's
ailment.

I had the older person's version of Acne, according to my
Doctor I had Rosacea, she gave me anti-biotics that I took
for ages, it went away.

Mike.

You are incorrect Mike. Acne is not just a young persons ailment. My Dermatologist will agree with me on that. She told me folks of all ages get it. Insurance companies, though, are of the mind that it is only for the young as they will not pay for treatment for it for anyone older than a teen. The acne I have does not look like the kind that often is had by teens, though, not as inflammatory. I don't have Rosacea, though, it is just known as acne.

Within the last week I got three very small bumps on my face. One was the "pop-able" kind which I drained. I put toothpaste on them and they are dried up. I'm not sure if it's because I've been eating too much ice cream lately or if it's the biotin I'm taking. People on Amazon complained that the mega doses of biotin were breaking them out but mine is much less than theirs (1,000 mg). I hadn't gotten any pimples in a long time before these.
I usually don't wash my face with water because the water here is hard. I use Kirkland facial towelettes which leave my skin soft. At night I put either Nubian Heritage Mango Butter lotion or Shea Moisture Hair & Scalp Serum on my face and around my eyes. The latter comes in a bottle with a tiny tip. Neither contains parabens.

We also have hard water here. So, the towelettes work well for you? I will try some. Even as a teenager I very rarely had pimples, my skin and scalp tend to be on the dry side (luckily?). Do you wear make-up, is that why you use the towelettes. I don't wear makeup at all, maybe lipstick if going out, but would like something to clean my face skin. Thanks!

No I don't wear makeup Catlady, except for a touch of eyebrow pencil when I'm going someplace special. My eyebrows are thin in parts. I really like the towelettes, only use a half sheet at a time and have been using them for a few years. They are marketed as excellent for make-up removal and are alcohol and paraben free, contain micellar water and vitamin E along with other ingredients.

@OneEyedDiva = I looked up the towelette and they're kind of expensive (for me). I'll think about it. I did find these homemade scrubs, may try the sugar and honey and the one with oats and see what happens. I don't have any skin problems, but would like to get rid of old skin once in a while. Read the comments, they're kind of old (2010) but so what.

Just curious. Where did you look for the Kirkland towelettes? If they were on Costco's site...they are probably more expensive than in the warehouse. Costco and Walmart (among others) admit that they charge more online. I always buy the towelettes when they are on sale. There's 180 in the box for around $10 or $11 I think. But as I said, I use 1/2 at a time....so it's like getting 360 at that price. The scrub information is interesting. Here's my simple scrub. About 1/2 tsp of sugar and a couple of drops of water. Spread on desired areas avoiding the eyes, of course. Afterward I follow up with witch hazel and Nubian Heritage Mango Butter lotion.

As a teenager I would get a very mild case of pimples from time to time and as a teen I thought it was the end of the world. I do remember when I was pregnant at 20 I also got a mild case of pimples, but after that I suppose I was lucky and never experienced it anymore. As for wearing make up, I do wear it and I use mild cleansers to clean it off and some moisturizers mostly on my forehead as that is where my skin seems to get dry.
