Not since I retired. Office pot lock was common, but most of the people brought desserts. Either too lazy or too cheap to bring anything good.

Not for several years. When I lived in Center, Texas, We would have pot lucks and we all knew each other and everybody brought their best dish. This was a small church and I would bring my peach cobbler as everybody loved it I brought home an empty dish each time.

We regularly go to DOG's... Dutch Oven Gatherings.. A type of Pot Luck where everyone cooks outside together with old cast iron camp ovens.

I've been to those. One time, this guy and his wife brought two bags of ice. ...The place had an open bar. With an ice machine.

Dude was really chuffed, too. Guess he figured he'd be the only one who even thought to bring ice.
And he was right about that.
