Do you have a junk drawer?

We have one, albeit a relatively neat and organized one, in the kitchen. I guess I should say *I* have one in the kitchen, because Ron has 4 more in the laundry room (note our laundry room is as big as a small bedroom so there’s lots of cabinets and drawers so lots of room)

My junk drawer primarily consists of kitcheny type stuff….twist ties and candles, rubber bands, reading glasses, a tape measure, magic marker, chip clips etc.

Ron’s are more fixit related..tools (separate of course from his tool box, the work van full of tools, and an entire shop FILLED with every imaginable tool and machine!!) glue, electrical bits and pieces, hooks, tape, screws and nails and scrapers and other unrecognizable-to-me things, most of which he also has an abundance of in the work van and his shop! Also all tidy and organized.

I recall the junk drawer in the kitchen I grew up in…a mess of everything imaginable…and from my experience most junk drawers are like that.

Have always had a junk drawer in the kitchen ... had a large one in my old house.
Now I have a small one in my apartment kitchen .... all the same usual stuff mentioned above.

When it gets too cluttered, I throw things away.

We have 1 in the kitchen.. got the usual type of useful junk..candles, chalk ( for the blackboard on the wall).. birthday candles, radiator keys, various small tools like screwdriver and pliers, and tape..( we have a large workshop which holds all the main tools) .. take-away restaurant menus, string, head-torch for emergencies if the power gets cut.... etc..

..and I have one in the sideboard in the livingroom which holds.. batteries for the remotes and various other things, adaptor plugs etc .., computer accessories.. phone accessories.. and so on...

..and one in my bedroom out of the 5 in my dresser .. which holds various small girlie items which don't fit elsewhere..

I have 2 junk drawers. The normal one in my kitchen and another with old mail and memories. I still have every letter my husband sent me when he was in the service. My Husband on the other hand has many junk drawers with papers in them from as far back as 1969 from his jobs.

believe it or not, I have a whole dedicated 3 shelf cupboard for stationary only...

I have a junk system. There's junk basket with scissors, etc. Then I have your basic junk drawer, but for large junk I have a big junk cardboard box. I do have to say that I'm not happy with "junk drawer", it's more "stuff I'll only use once in my life, but I'll keep it just in case drawer".

Yes, every drawer in the house is a junk drawer...we even have a couple junk rooms.

Oh yes I have a junk drawer with tape, rubber bands, tacks, paper clips, scissors, those clip things that hold potato chip bags together after you open them, pens, pencils, post it notes and much more.

You guys aren’t thinking positively. It’s a ‘miscellany’ drawer. I have a very big Ikea cutlery container to separate all these valuables.

I have the same problem....I can't seem to get rid of my stuff. I have no problem getting rid of other people's stuff though. Maybe we should switch places....you clean out my stuff, and I'll clean out yours!
