Do you have a mobile phone?

Am I the only one on here who used AAA TripTiks on vacations? Had to visit the local office, tell them where you wanted to go , and they would print out a series of maps, which they would manually highlight, to show the page by page route to your destination. I would also get state maps of the various states and maybe a city map or too.

good times....

Back in the late 90s my then wife had AAA and would get those trip tiks for when we traveled. They were actually very handy, sure beat trying to deal with a big fold out road map .

I have a smart phone, but don't use apps on it. What worries me is what would happen if it got stolen, or I lost it at any time. If I had my whole life on the phone then I'd be bereft of just about everything, but as it is, if I want to get money out of an ATM, or pay a bus or train fare, I can do so from my credit card, just as I can use my A-Z of London, or wherever, to find out where I am, or what route to take, etc.

It really does worry me that so many people put all their eggs into one basket, that is so easily lost or stolen.
Mine is from the office and it's protected. It immediately switches off. You need a code to open it. My kids do that with their phones too. You can block your sim card with information when it gets stolen. They are going to make it even safer this year.

My son's phone got stolen. He could just see where it was and blocked it.
