Do You Have A Patient Portal that you can access?

If you belong to a Medical Group like Kaiser etc. you probably have a PATIENT PORTAL that you can use on your computer or smart phone and be able to schedule your appointments, request RX, view lab test results, communicate with your doctor or staff. It's a great tool for being and staying assertive about your health. I have found that many of the Cancer and Heart clinics have Patient Portals available. It sure beats trying to deal on the phone with these folks that have you wait for ever for the next operator.
 

Yes. My husband and I both do through our PCP. We use them regularly. I like the fact we can keep track of upcoming appointments and labs . I also like that I can send a message to the office through the portal for non urgent matters.
 
We've had Kaiser for years, and we do have computer communication with them, test results, etc. are able to be seen online, plus we get a hard copy in the regular mail. I usually just call by phone though, to make the occasional appointment, we don't see the doctors very often (yet).
 

Love my PCP patient portal. He usually gets back within 2 days to me through it or his nurse calls me. Great for non emergency questions and saves trips to his office.
 
Have one for my wife's PCP, dentist and eye doctor. I have it with my VA doctor, dentist and eye doctor. Any exam I get, I always ask for the hard copy of the exam and keep it in a folder. Our dr appointments are on our iphones, on the calendar and I have a print out of my VA Labs/Drs. appointments on our frig.

I would have made a great Executive Secretary!:)
 
I have three as well,but can only access two. One is for my PCP and Endocronogist and any other docs I see through the Sutter system. The next is for my OB/GYN,who they say I don`t even need to see anymore. And the third is for my Oncologist and Radiation Oncologist but I have had problems with that one from the beginning and now they say the entire site has issues. So I`ll have to see on my next visit if they have it back up and running and see if I can get on.
 
Interesting - many of the same members whom answered in the negative to Lon's thread yesterday (My Tip For All Seniors), turned around & answered in the positive to this thread. We all use technology in today's environment.
 
I have it and it is very handy to look up my appt schedule or dash off a quick question to my doctor. Unfortunately, some of the specialists use it minimally and don't convey much info in the appointment summary. I'm inquiring about how I go about downloading an Xray or CT scan to view on my computer.
 
I have one with my GP and it helps a tremendous amount to order prescription refills as well as reminders for appointments and to reschedule appointments.
 
I just recently signed up for My Chart with the Cleveland Clinic. I find it very helpful.
