Do you have a power reserve or hidden backup source?

Be what you is not what you what you ain’t

By pacing ourselves it is possible to go farther and last longer than not. Can you summon special powers of intellect or strength and energy if you need to? Maybe special abilities or powers most people are not privy to?

Have you ever met somebody charisma, Ronnie Van Zant had tremendous charisma, you could feel it in his presence. Do you yield to people more powerful than you? Pecking order. The world is alive communicating and interactive in every imaginal way. What if we could tap into life and nature and use it to our advantage? Would it be wrong to manipulate life and nature? How can it be wrong if you have a talent to do so?

I thought this was going to be about flashlights or something. I have the rechargeable ones.

For me no. The only thing I can say, is that I have worked with certain people who have a calming effect on me. They are few but there have been those that when I worked with them, I was calmer. And I'm an internal anxiety bomb at work.

I don’t get it, probably never will. I tried to submit and believe in Jesus and the Bible but I found fault in the sermons and teachings of godly men. Faith is the foundation for believing in god, Jesus and the Bible. Without proof, faith was not sufficient to continue believing in Christianity or the Bible.
Interestingly, I believe in god, but I cannot identify who, what, where or how god exists, I want to believe whereas Christianity I don't deem helpful or useful.

I think the teachings of Jesus is very relevant, even, or especially today, and I see many so called Christians paying little, or no attention to what he said. I can see how much of the Bible, especially the old testament would turn many off. Like most teachings I glean what I find meaningful to me. I left organized religion at a young age, mostly because the hypocrisy that I witnessed on a regular basis, and I was never much of a joiner, and prefer to find my own truths through my own observations. I choose to believe in God also, and like you have no real idea who, or what that is, other than something benevolent. Even if I'm wrong, I find it helpful in my day to day life, and can see no downside in my approach to it. Some insist there is no God, and that's fine, but I think that approach may be more of an ego thing than anything else. In the end each to his own, as long as your not denigrating others to prove your own truth.

Same here
I never have been able to muster 'blind' faith

Give Daniel and The Revelation a go
The author, Uriah Smith, lays it out pretty nice

The accuracy of biblical prophecies 'proved' it to me

It's a start

Did someone get into the acid again?

Not necessarily a bad thing. Did my share in the past, and I feel it opens doors that might otherwise never have presented themselves. Those who have indulged in a reasonable way will know what I mean when I say you will never see the world in quite the same way again. Your perspective is forever changed in a positive way. It tends to dissolve ego, and see yourself as part of something much larger than yourself.

Yep, comes on automatically whenever we have a power outage.

I keep thinking about getting one of these, but in the 8 years that I have lived here, we lost power twice, both times for less than an hour. Our electric company has that rerouting system. If the power goes out, the computerized system reroutes the power somehow. We don’t have any lines above ground.

Everyone has power within themselves that can be used, that is a source of mental and physical strength. There may be people who have "charisma" but that might just be part of being sociopathic. That isn't to say that all sociopaths are bad, many leaders in business and in politics are sociopaths.
Anyway, I don't look for people with charisma to draw strength from, although I'd say it's possible to learn how to draw one's own inner strength from a charismatic person.
Practicing mindfulness, breathing purposefully and engaging in body movements like with Taichi generate a sense of wellbeing, and increased emotional and physical stability. Of course, healthy diet choices and sleep will improve a person's health noticeably.

We had a power outage once due to high winds in winter, temps around 10 F. Power was out for about 48 hours and the winds blew at 50 to 70 mph the whole time. Our plumbing all froze, more damage was done than the generator cost. That was the driver...

Didn’t your insurance cover your loss? As for keeping warm, grab a few things and then go to a hotel. I doubt if we will get that cold here in Northern Virginia.
