Do you have a "security system"- cameras, etc.?

I have Ring. I also have a lazy dog. So when Ring notifies my phone that someone is at the door. The dog will bark. When i get a notification that i have email, my dog will bark thinking someone is at the door even if she doesn't see anyone.
 

Yes I have a monitored security system with window contacts, glass breaks, smoke detectors, etc.
I have a big solid brick house. You cant hear anything outside.
Back in the day the husband worked nights a lot.
So we have had it for a while. Im alone now so it lets me sleep in peace.

I also have a loud outdoor siren. If youre close the noise makes your teeth hurt.
If you mess with my house the whole neighborhood will know about it.
I dont want my system to notify the police after theyve already broken in.
I want the noise to make them reconsider it in the first place.
Also lets them know my systems not fake. The yard signs are real.

Same for me. Cameras inside and out, monitored alarm system that we set every evening and anytime we leave the house - even if it's just for a 20 minute walk around the block. Side gates are always padlocked.

Loud interior and exterior sirens for our hardwired alarm system that's unaffected by wifi blockers or outages. Or even power outages for some 6+ hours because of battery backup.

Almost nothing in my house would appeal to most burglars. Virtually no cash, designer purses or expensive jewelry - good jewelry is kept in a bank safety deposit box. We use inexpensive computers and cellphones, and have no valuable collectibles, gaming consoles, cameras, opioid medications, etc.
 
We live in a mobile home park. Between the kids that have no respect and the crack heads I keep an eye on things outside. I have 5 cameras set up. I do have issues with wifi connectivity so some cameras I cannot see at times, but they still record. I usually run a full screen camera and it rotates cameras every 30 seconds.

We have used different cameras, but the cameras we have now are the best, even though they aren’t the most expensive. We have Blink cameras now that work both day and night. They are very clear. I have found them to be the most reliable and most clearest. Just like watching TV. The smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are hardwired.

I live in a very low crime area. I can’t even tell anyone when the last crime was committed in our development.

We also have whole home operating system for lights / window shutters ect , for when we are away

If anyone enters our yard our system firstly ~ takes a close up photo of the person …then monitors where they walk to,
We only loose the video ,if we delete it

We can also speak to who ever at our door , where ever we may be in Australia …..most systems have the same options

the Systems costs us nothing ~ no monthly fees …as it’s self monitored on our phones/ iPads

I set mine every time I leave too. I have cell guard on mine. Its like it has its own cell phone. :D
I used to be more rural but the city is fast encroaching. Ive learned the hard way not to put anything too enticing out front.
A while back I lost two big vintage cast iron yard urns that had been out there for years.
 
Yeah, let's post what kind of home security we have on the internet so that any yayhoo with an internet connection can see it.

Yes, we're careful about that too. Once had a garden hose stolen. Who does that???

this is sort of off-topic, but a week or so back, there were two valuable Spotted Tennessee Walkers stolen 38 miles from me, right out of their pasture at ~2 AM.

That means I am already on high alert and nobody needs to really tiss me off by coming onto my property that is completely fenced and behind locked gates.
 
I have several cameras of different types. The ones I find the handiest are the one inside the garage that I can use to make sure the big door is closed and one in the basement to make sure everything in the basement is okay.
Motion activated camera, light, alarms outside the front and back doors.
Still can’t get my wife to look on her phone to see who is at the door if the doorbell rings.
She thinks that if she doesn’t answer the door quick enough she will miss them.
I told her that if it’s important or a friend they will be there after two minutes time.
