Do you have an Air Fryer?

I have yet to find a way to heat Gorton's frozen fried fish that works as well as I would like, but my most acceptable results came from heating them 60 seconds in the microwave, then heating the rest of the way uncovered in a regular 375° oven for 5-6 minutes (or until the desired level of brownness occurs).
I buy fresh fish and cook it on a small George Forman grill. I like fish without a coating. Salmon does really well in the grill and while I am cooking it I also cook fresh asparagus next to it. Yummy!

Yes, I have a Cosori AF.. and I rarely ever cook in my trad oven any more.. even have in the past cooked eggs in the A... altho' I do genuinely prefer to cook them on the hob because it's qucker, however there is no loss of texture to them in the AF... especially if you're cooking filled omelettes

The AF cooks everything approximately in a third of the time it wuld take the oven... most things retain their juiciness better than being baked in the oven.. and I have reheated many leftovers in it...

Yes I have one. Started with a smallish one from Aldi, cheap as not sure how much use it would be. It eventually died so now I’ve got a bigger Ninja two drawer one. Wouldn’t be without it. No waiting for the oven to heat up & things cook in a fraction of the time. I don’t know what Gordon’s fish is but I cook breaded frozen fish in mine in about 15 minutes. Salmon steaks are lovely from it, sausages , chips ( french fries to you I think.?) cook from fresh potatoes as quickly as frozen chips & far nicer. I’ve yet to bake a cake in it though I know it will. In fact it’s in use almost every day using a fraction of the electricity of the oven.

I'm not one to conform to the masses but you folks have just about convinced me to buy an Air Fryer, with all the raving reviews.
And, I'd really be curious to see if it lowers my electric power use, since I always use my oven to bake chicken, salmon, toast, a bunch of stuff. It might be just what I need...

I bought a very small one as I thought we would only do chips/fries in it but, we used it so much that I ordered a bigger one. You can buy liners for the air fryer too which, I think, are worth getting as they make it so much easier to keep it clean. You can buy paper liners or ones you can re-use and they are not expensive. I decided to use my Ninja Max today. I bought frozen salt & pepper calamari . I've had it before and cooked it in the oven. It took 5 minutes on 400 degrees in the air fryer. My oven would have taken 20 minutes just to preheat. It was so much more crispy and tasty than when I cooked it in the oven.

So, we were having previously cooked chicken empanadas for dinner. We would usually reheat them in the microwave but we tossed them in the air fryer for 5 minutes. The shells were so crispy, the cheese nicely melted and not mushy.

I bought Gorton's battered fish filets at the grocery store and noticed the packaging includes air fryer directions. I also bought frozen vegetables designed specifically for air fryers. Thanks to the recommendations here, my paper liners are on their way.

Not only is the food delicious, cooking is quick and I'm using much less electricity. I'm sold!

Funny you should ask! I had a NuWave oven, which just died. I believe that could have been used as an air fryer, but I never did. Since we used the NuWave everyday, I knew I need a replacement appliance, but decided to go with something completely different. So I ordered this 11 function toaster/air fryer (Amazon link below). My son hasn't picked it up yet. I hardly ever fry foods but the appliance comes with a recipe book, so I'll be trying out some air fry recipes. I'll try to remember to let you know how I like it.

Yeah, I'll chk out the various sizes to see what will fit on the counter. Those liners sound like a good idea, in fact I saw some the other day while I was out, I just can't remember where though....I'm sure I'll see them again.

You should do an infomercial for the company 🤣

I was so smitten with the Ninja air fryer that i got in 2019 that i upgraded to a dual drawer Ninja AF in 2023. So now i can prepare a 2-course meal all at the same time, no muss, no fuss (especially with the invention of the AF parchment liners). It’s amazing (to me) to be able to prepare ‘real food’ yet not need to wash a single dish.
A couple of y’all have mentioned Gorton’s fish filets…my experience is that they turn out perfect!
And i’ve never reheated any leftovers in the air fryer that didn’t turn out great…often even better than they were the first time around.

Yes, but I use it only to heat ciabatta roll halves to a crispy brownness, and include lots of butter on top. Other members of my household are so fond of crisply browned and butter bread, but they find other things to do with the air fryer.

When I made Pepperoni Monkey Bread today, the pan I chose was too small. The other third was put in a small pan. I did the larger pan in the preheated oven and decided to test the small pan in the AF using the Air Roast function. It was done about 8 minutes sooner. Both were equally good.

I just need to learn the best way to do things.
