Do you have any useless trivia?

Sir George Everest, after whom Mt. Everest is named, never even saw, let alone climbed, the mountain. Although we say 'Everest', apparently his name was pronounced ' Eve-rest'. He was buried in Hove, near Brighton, a place he had no connection with.

I always thought it was just 17 Inuit words for snow.
