Can you share your likes and dislikes if you have it please. Does it have roaming charges? I have a tracphone (flip) I am way behind the times. I also need a new phone but I don't want a flip or one that I need a college degree to learn to use it either.lol Thank you!

You can buy any phone you like (I have an iphone).. and not worry about how to use it, because there are Video instructions on Youtbe of everything and anything to do with all makes of Mobile phones..

I had ATT / when I switched from a flip phone to an I phone, I chose Consumer Cellular because...

*they use ATT towers,
*there's no contract, so your not 'locked' in,
*plan is fairly priced and
*their support service is U.S. based

don't know about roaming charges

CC for several years. Especially like how if one goes over plan limits chosen, they just temporarily bump one up into the next plan tier instead of nailing one for $$.

Yes, had one since 2011 (after my fiasco with AT&T). They do piggyback on AT&T, never had any problems. If you have an AARP membership there is a 5% discount once signed up. Saved enough to make it worthwhile over time, Pays my AARP annual fees+. Great service & as pointed out above you never incur additional overage charges. If you go with them signup for 'Autopay' & paperless statements - saves a little more.

I have a Verizon phone service. $55/mo on a family plan.

This includes high speed 5G service as a hotspot. I use the hotspot internet to connect to servers at work as well as Teams meetings with coworkers.

I was impressed when I got service where I couldn't get it before when I had T-Mobile.

If money gets tight after I retire, I will look into CC.

Love CC, they are the best.
Also I was paying for satellite internet which was about $85 a month, and I just upped my CC plan to unlimited data (Which was $15 more a month). Now I use it as a hotspot for internet, and I dropped Satellite internet. Saved me $70 a month, and it works fine..

I had CC from 2009 to 2018 for my flip phone. Never had a problem with them. When I got my iPhone, I checked with Consumer Reports and the cheapest and best rated service provider was "ting.com". Pretty much like CC, but cheaper. I'm surprised nobody knows about them.

I have a Samsung mobile phone and rarely make or receive calls on it. I use their health app on the phone to track my daily health records. My Samsung watch receives all kinds of health information from my wrist. Once per week I send all those health records to my Geriatrician. It's like having a doctor with me 24/7.

Thanks so much I am checking into consumer cellular soon! I looked up ting but all I saw was internet service.

There is a Ting internet (ting.com). Ting Mobile is tingmobile.com. Apparently they were, at one time, a Canadian based small company that valued their customers and service. Then they got bought by Dish Network and left to rot on the vine. Not recommended.
