Do you have days when you do stupid things all day long?
Today was one of them. I figured it out, since I was disabled I made the same breakfast over 10,000 times. But did that stop me from pouring water into the wrong hole in the coffee maker? Instead of zapping my sausage for 1 minute, I set it for 8. I had to call in to renew a script, I got her on the phone, and couldn't remember the name of the med. And I did all kinds stupid stuff in the bathroom.
It just goes on and on.

I visited this thread several times today, and thought "no not me," then awhile ago I made a box cake and put it in the oven. It was supposed to bake 30 minutes, but I was doing other things and forgot all about it until it had baked 55 minutes. Now I have a big crunchy chocolate cookie instead of a cake.

No. But not doing too many stupid things is mostly a practiced skill, anyone can become reasonably consistent at. Those consuming alcohol and or depressant drugs are not helping themselves.

But am human, so occasionally will do such things like anyone else when distracted or daydreaming. Most likely for unimportant trivial stuff. When that happens, am quick to right myself into a more consistent mindset. Prime example, walking downstairs to grab a spare pair of eyeglasses and while down there first opens a cabinet for a cookie and then starts walking back upstairs wondering why I really went down there?

My adult life career assisting electronic hardware engineers was extremely technical and challenging requiring being consistent and careful, often performing operations engineers themselves didn't want to do lest they might blow up one of their just a few available prototype pc boards. Or replace a large integrated IC with dozens of tiny pins while viewing under a stereo microscope where a single unnoticed short to a power rail might blow up a PCB.

Also the level of photography I have performed especially years ago with my 4x5 film view camera work required consistency when carrying just a few heavy sheet film holders, each one precious, not to be wasted by missing any of a long list of careful steps lest one receive processed film back with bright blank zones because say light got into a exposed film holder.

And backpacking is not a sport of a klutz or those in a habit of just "winging it", unprepared. My Excel gear list has about 200 items. Missing many small items can be a disaster, for instance, no Bik lighter in my pack means a cold dinner, or pre-trip, did not installed fully charged batteries on a flashlight.
