Do You Have Life Insurance

Nope, no need now. When I was married and raising kids I carried a term policy so the family wouldn't be financially devastated if I died. Then when I became part owner of a business we carried insurance as owners.

At this point no one is financially dependant on me and there's plenty of money to send me off to never never land.

As a retiree who meets regular age and service eligibility, your state-sponsored life insurance continues for you and your dependents at no charge to you. Your coverage is 25% of the coverage you carried when you left work...
So mine isn't a lot, but it costs me nothing.

I don't have any life insurance, though the travel insurance for the week of my cruise next month includes a small accidental death payment, which I guess is the same.

When I went through my mother's papers after her death, I saw she'd carried an accidental death life insurance policy through age 75. And my parents had a paid up whole life policy that paid to me when they both had died.

Maybe I would have had life insurance if I'd planned ahead better. While I was working I had life insurance as a benefit, but once I retired I didn't have it anymore. So, maybe if I'd had children when I was young (versus adopting when I was 49 yrs old), I hope I would have gotten some.

I do on myself. As part of my retirement package the company I worked for I have a 250k policy. For my wife no need.

Yes, I have life Insurance.

They pulled the premiums out of my retirement pay, didn't really miss it.
A while back I was informed I had met the required payments and I no longer had
to pay for the policy.
Still have the same coverage and should help the wife after I depart.

Nope!

Everything is paid for including my funeral and my income is sufficient to cover my expenses.

I have some end of life care money tucked away.

If that’s not enough I’ll have to depend on Medicaid and the kindness of strangers to see me on my way.

I have a small fully paid policy that my Mother bought for me when I was born. That was almost 80 years ago and the interest accumulation now exceeds the original value of the policy. I think she paid 25 cents a week until she paid for this policy. Life was very different back during WWII.
