No sad story here.
The thought popped into my head as I think of some people I know who seem not to worry about anything at all.
They go about their life, not concerned at all about anything going on around them, or around the world.
Just their own little life and they do seem happy/content being that way.

This reeks of condescension.

I try to have the bliss of ignorance when it comes to certain subjects like politics. When they start up on politics on the news or talk shows I switch channels. It's just the same old back and forth yada yada and raises blood pressure.

Another is when they talk about certain diseases or conditions. If you listen long enough you become a hypochondriac.

A lie was still a lie, all that mattered was how it had been told us.

There always was a fact checker but who checked the fact checkers lies ?
Another fact checker was always there to tell lies too.

Did you ever actually trust the Dealer ? Is poker actually fun to play ?

I'm kind of gimpy today but I goes to the Bar anyway.
Hobble in and notice a new lovely young blond bartender.

"Hi Old timer, what would you like today," she says
"Kentucky Burbon and a Cigar."

The lovely young thing delivers my drink and Cigar.
I sit swilling my Bourbon and lite up my Stogie.

Lovely young thing continues to watch, even stare at me.
"Just how old are you sweetie," she finally asks?

Twenty-three !

I'd rather be able to think and problem solve even if I find it oppressive at times.

Same here, @chic ... living in a foggy world of oblivion where nothing is important enough to bother me or stir my emotions doesn't sound really great.
