Do you have trouble using phones, hi tech things?

Ron is not terribly tech savvy. He always wants the high tech phone, but then uses barely 10% of its capabilities!! Drives me nuts, in a humorous way!! :D But he wants to learn, so I've slowly been showing him how to do more on both his phone and his computer.

Speaking of which, he complained constantly about his ineptitude with the computer, how he was always making a mess when he tried to use it. Finally had him show me. He had an old Dell laptop that must have been running so many viruses it was largely unusable. I urged him to get a new computer preferably a Mac Book, (because they're what I'm most familiar with and I know they're user friendly and intuitive, and he already had an iPhone so integration would be a breeze)

He was hesitant just because he didn't want to spend a bunch of money on something he was going to hardly use, as was the case with his old one. I told him that once he got an actual functional computer, he'd be using it all the time!!! Finally he was convinced and bought a refurbished Mac Book Air...lightweight, lots of power for his needs and no viruses!!! He was thrilled at how easy it was to use, and realized that 95% of the problems he was having with his old one wasn't his ineptitude it was the computer itself!

Now he does all kinds of things on the computer! He even pays his bills online! He is absolutely thrilled at how easy it all is.

One thing I want to point out to those of you who have trouble with with your computers or phones, or various programs that you use or websites you visit. It isn't always user-error!!! Truly it isn't. Sometimes the programming, the coding the software that runs the phone or the website or the program is not well done at all, it's glitchy, non-intuitive, cumbersome, and really a mess to use. Even the best of us would have trouble with it!! There are websites that I just won't go to anymore because the coding is so bad!!! Several of my boys are coders, and they are constantly complaining about the wretched and incompetent coding that's around. So don't beat yourself up...it may well not be you who is causing all the problems!

Not at all. After working as a Disc Jockey with all that equipment for 40 years of my life my phone is pretty much a piece of cake except when it does the crazy unknown stuff.

I'd say I do pretty well with them. When there is a problem I go to the section I think the problem came from and try to correct it. If that doesn't work I try another route. Eventually I get it done right.
