What is a sound from your childhood that the younger generation will never understand?
I will go first: Sonic boom
I will go first: Sonic boom
lol...Pappy... I'm almost 71 and even I haven't heard those sounds in my childhood....The sound of cranking the wooden wall phone to call the operator to call someone.
The pumping sound of the water pump bringing water from the spring house into the house.
God I’m old.![]()
we still have them..milk trucks (floats)... no bell tho'....The sound of the milktruck ringing the bell.
we still have them all the time.. they're everywere in the UK.. they plays various tunes but mostly...... Yankee doodle DandyNot a lot of ice cream trucks anymore rolling down the street playing "Turkey in the Straw".
I still have that on this cordless dect landline phone...of which I have 3 dotted around the houseThe dial tone when the phone was picked up.
I guess you must have overheard your neighbors’ secrets. If you mentioned a "party line" to a youngun'
... they might hear it as a queue at the pub ... or something.
