Opal .. I have a few opal rings, but the one I wear regularly is one my daughter gave me. I bought some lovely opal jewellery when I lived in Australia (which is where a lot of opals come from).

Not too into gemstones, but I do really like rocks, fossils and minerals.

Took the grandkids to Montana last summer and bought a couple of bags of dirt from a sapphire mine. The kids found about 7, in the 1 to 2 caret range, raw uncut of course. So maybe I should say sapphires...

Aquamarine for my birthday (Aries), I cherish my ring which Papa gave me on my 8th birthday. I love the other gemstones that were in my family: Garnet, Emerald, Opal and one more Aquamarine. I dislike rubies as they were set in snake jewellery, yuck!

I'm October but never heard of tourmaline. Maybe it's a regional thing.
