Do you know your cats ancestry? Yes, there are cat DNA testing companies.

I loved all the cats we had through the years and if testing was available back then I wouldn't have done it and I'm not sure I would trust the results.
We had a feral, 6 toed tiger cat when we first got married. She turned into one of the most lovable cats we ever had.
At the time some people who were knowledgeable about cats said they originated in the New England states and all had the extra toes. I'm not sure if there was any truth to that or not.
When she padded across the floors with those extra toes you could hear her coming from one end of the house to the other,

I think that a few wealthy people have also had their cats cloned. The technology exists if price is no object, so you can have a Snowball II, Snowball III, etc... 🐈

My cat's pedigree remains private and confidential. Where does all this invasion stop? And when do people just say NO!head palm 34.jpg

I knew about the dog DNA tests so I am not surprised they have it for cats too. Some of the rescue groups for mixed-breed dogs are using them to identify the breeds in the mix to help in understanding behaviors and forever-home placement.

I am planning to DNA test my mix-breed dog eventually. Both of his parents are Border Collie / Australian Shepherd crosses and I would love to know which way he leans, because it's not necessarily 50/50.

They do quite a detailed report including breed identification, tendencies for genetic health problems, etc. Some of us find this stuff very interesting.

I've been getting those dog DNA testing pamphlets in the mail.
I spend a lot of money on my dog, but I stop at that - just something I find unnecessary.

Yeah, I kind of knew dog people got into the ancestry of their doggie. He wasn't Fluffy, he was Prince Von Zanderhoffen de Champagne III. My cats cost $5 @ KMart. I thought their pedigree trail lead to the nearest alley.
