Do you let dogs lick your face?

Me, no, it's disgusting to me. In fact I don't let our dog lick me at all.
Watching some people, I can hardly bear it. However, I understand a dog is showing great affection in this way and it's got good sides to it if you don't mind.
 

Don't have a dog,but if I did no way would I want to be licked.

Zoonotic diseases can be transmitted to human by infected saliva, aerosols, contaminated urine or feces and direct contact with the dog. Viral infections such as rabies and norovirus and bacterial infections including Pasteurella, Salmonella, Brucella, Yersinia enterocolitica, Campylobacter, Capnocytophaga, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Coxiella burnetii, Leptospira, Staphylococcus intermedius and Methicillin resistance staphylococcus aureus are the most common viral and bacterial zoonotic infections transmitted to humans by dogs.

No... absolutely not. My grandfurbabies loved me..loads.. and they would have licked my face all day if I'd let them but I never would allow it. My daughter otoh , lets her dogs lick her all the time...

We did have a Staffie who adored people.. she basically ignored other dogs in favour of humans.. and she was obsessed with licking legs.. even when I had sun factor lotion on she would do it.. drove me nuts..
 
Okay everyone, say "OH MY GOD''! I have 3 dogs, two of them love to give kisses and I love to get them. The 3rd is a big cuddler. Two of them sleep in the bed with me, the littles. Boy sleeps on his pillow on his side of the bed. Girl, prefers to be under the covers snuggled along my right side. Big dog sometimes sleeps on the floor beside my side of the bed. Sometimes he prefers to be out in the den under the ceiling fan.

If you had human children were they not kissed, cuddled and tucked in? I had a boy and there was no telling what he had put in his mouth, carried around frogs and lizards along with the bugs needed to feed them in his pockets. Did not make me want to not to be all in with love. Of course not.

My dogs are not working dogs of a farm or ranch. They are inside pets that are kept very clean, They still take medications to prevent fleas, ticks and worms.

Nope. Of course what goes on during snuggle times stays in snuggle time. But my current dog, a border collie based breed, has little inclination to lick and I like that. I on the other hand like to pretend I’m grooming her by rolling my lips in over my teeth and then lightly munching the fur on her face and ears. She seems to like it. At 4 months this is how she expresses affection, rubbing her face against mine.

Our first herding dog, an Australian shepherd we inherited loved to lick my feet and I admit I loved that. Best foot massage ever and one my wife refuses to provide.

One time I was watching QVC and they had the Wen guy, Chaz Dean. He had his large dogs with him. Very nice, pretty dogs.
The whole time he was pushing his product the dogs were licking the poor models legs and no one said a word! She was young and at first she smiled but then became obviously uncomfortable but they let it go on. She was embarrassed but I don't think she knew what to do so the dogs, maybe one, I don't remember, just kept licking her legs.
I would never buy his products just because of that. I felt violated 😁 seriously, not as much as she did.
 
Nope, nada, nein, not ever. I've had lots of dogs & none were allowed to lick, especially in our faces. I've seen them eat cat truffles, horse apples & any thing else decaying in the yard along with cleaning themselves. They get their shots, flea/tick meds & wormer on schedule & still no way.

My SIL, on the other hand, lets her barking Cucarachas (past & present) kiss her constantly in the mouth & its very disgusting. @Knight, I could give my SIL the link you provided & she still wouldn't understand why its bad.

Yes. My first dog was an Irish Setter. I was three, there was no avoiding that tongue. Now my mini-dachshund's little tongue seems like nothing at all.

My answer is "No." I agree with others about questioning where the dog's been, what he/she licked, and if they are carriers of any disease. I have a fear of dogs ever since I was young (I was often chased by barking dogs while walking home from school). That's how I became a good runner and ended up racing in the Jr. Olympics. I had a lot of practice.

The other day, a large dog was outside the senior center entrance and was jumping on people who arrived. As I approached cautiously, I wondered if he would do the same to me. Yep! He bounded torward me and jumped up on me. I swear, his paws went over my shoulders, that's how large he was. I wasn't quick enough to get out of his path. I almost fell backward and jerked my head to the side so he wouldn't lick my face. But he seemed more playful than anything. Still, I have an aversion to dogs.
