Do You Like Lentils?

Lentils are a healthy source of protein and fiber. Great also for digestion, heart disease and helps prevent obesity. Actually, if they are added to hearty soups and stews, it's difficult to even tell they are present.
Especially true with red lentils. They melt into soups and stews quickly without adding flavor. A can of refried beans does the same. (I use both in my minestrone to make it heartier.)

I like lentils. I like them cooked with vegetables, or in a soup. I also like to sprout lentils. They are so easy to sprout and are similar to mung bean sprouts once they have grown for a couple of days. I add the sprouts to salads or scrambled eggs.
I also soak lentils overnight and add to bread or cake recipes. Once they are cooled, you can’t even taste the lentils, but it adds a lor of good vitamins, fiber, and protein to the food. I make what we call fiber cake, which has lentils, flax seeds, chia seeds, and some psyllium powder added to a plain cake mix, along with some kind of fruits or veggies like carrots, and baked into a shortbread.

Jmo, lentils are yummy. Lentil soup is easy and healthy. They’re high fibre, which is good for everyone. Basically, soup was the only way I used them. Recently I wondered why I wasn’t cooking them up for other meals. I had paid $2+ for a can that I was adding here and there to salads. The other day I bought green and brown for $2 a bag. I cooked up 1 cup of a mix of green, brown, and red and ended up with a huge bowl of about 4 cups worth. I did them with a dried vegetable blend and shallots. Easy, peasy and delicious. I’m using them as a side dish with dinner.
I've had them before. But not enough times to know for sure if I like or don't like them. I think I've only had them like twice.
