Do you like National Geographic, Popular Mechanics, or Popular Science?

I know that they are generally considered a man's magazine, but both my hubby and I Love them. We read them through, and then I Keep them for art inspiration and subject matter. I have over 25 years stored. I haven't seen much on the subject of magazines on SF. What magazines do you read, if any?:magnify:
 

Of those three, I'd choose National Geographic. I don't read many magazines, seems that many of them are just ads every other page. We do get Time magazine delivered for free, came with our newspaper subscription, but I rarely read them, my husband usually looks at them.
 
Same here Sea. I used to subscribe to BOTH Pop Sci AND Pop Mech. but, like you say they were full of ads every other page, so I quit them. The only other mags to which I subscribe are Natl. Geo. and Smithsonian Inst.
 

Years ago I remember liking Popular Science magazine. I haven't seen it in ages.

National Geographic has been in our house for years.. my husband kept subscribing yearly, and he inherited his father's.
They are on a book shelf now, going back to 1888.

I always liked to "pull up" a chair and read Popular Mechanics! :)

Wow, Those magazines are more popular than I thought. I don't read mags at all. Hubby keeps them in "The Library". But I do use National Grographic for insperation in my art work. :wave:
 
I prefer NATGEO. have them on cable. also if you go online they have some really fabulous photography
 
I do portraits for individuals at a cost. I like to use Nat/Geo to get ideas of what people look like in different countries, and I like to capture the surrounding backgrounds. These I sell through a couple of resteraunts. I use colored pencils and pan pastles,( it is a hard powder of color applied with a brush). :wave:
 
Used to when I used the local library. Now, I just eread on my iPad and only read freebies and they aren't included. And I know you are thinking cheap but I prefer frugal...
 
I grew up with & loved all three, Pop had huge collection if NGs. In adult life sub to NG while the kids were in school, the other 2 occasionally. Finally gave up on NG when I started to feel it was getting too sociol-political about regimes & social problems & departing from science and discovery. I don't subscribe to any, any more. Too many ads, had big mess with Time putting unauthorized sub on a credit card, just read whatever I want at the library .
 
As a teenager in the 60's the National Geographic was our first intro to "porn". Of course the travel features were serious articles, but the photos of naked native girls ....... I liked the fold-out maps that the mags occasionally contained.
 
Prefer National Geographic. I receive them at the office and always take them home when I refresh the display so - no cost to me. I would love to get a Science magazine but Popular Science did not appeal to me.
